I had a lot of fun making this video. I've been looking forward to this moment since starting layout construction. How many cars do you count?

Makes me glad I model HO scale which allows me to realistically run 90-100 cars.
  • @drgwnut
The modern-day record is 31 locomotives and 1,563 freight cars. Now you have the bar to jump over...

75 cars with one postwar FM Trainmaster is my longest. Great video!

Excellent Jason, I am a major fan of long trains. My problem is being retired and getting back into the model train world is a lot more expensive than I can afford. But what I do have put together is more than enough to make my 7 y/o granddaughter very happy. Just an aside, I still have my original Lionel train given to me by my parents back in the mid-1950's. And it still runs great and I would bet you a 2 liter bottle of soda that it could pull all 54 coal cars! Enjoy your summer, I am looking forward to seeing your 2024 Christmas layout. Respectfully, ~Ken

You said it best: "a childhood dream realized" great video, Jason! - Ryan

Great video. I love O gauge even though I'm an N scale modeler. For comparison, my 25-car roadrailer train pulled by 2 SD70's measures 9' 5".

Impressive, very impressive. I’ve never seen a single individual own so much of the same type of rolling stock. You my friend are a true railfan junkie. -🤣👍🏻
  • @tomrogers5516
That was a mighty little switcher to pull all those cars, Jason, with power to spare. Very impressive!
  • @andrewschmid5917
Been awesome seeing the layout come together, been watching since it was only REALTRAX on the original layout with the Dash 9
  • Fun video, Jason! I know this video was a lot of work to put together, but know you had a good time running all of those trains. Thank you for sharing your railroad and trains with us! Bill B.
  • Wow! The Big boy I guessed could probably do it. Really had to say wow when the switcher did it. Keep having fun!
  • I think I had that mth video on DVD. A great tribute to our childhood.

The hobo union approves of this video, and will be visiting a layout near you.....❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊

Nice! Loved seeing your long trains! Now I don't feel as bad when I pull mine out on the Austin Tinplate Trackers layout. Thanks for sharing! -Ricky
  • @leoberiding
Thanks for the fun ! I just made a video with 44 Lionel 8000 gallon tank cars, now I need to make a longer one. A tiny MTH 44 ton GE diesel could pull it.

Hi JD. I've been looking forward to your next video and wondering exactly what's your next challenge would be. Well I wasn't disappointed. You remind me of myself and that I always look for challenges that blow my mind. I really like your sense of humor and I enjoy the sarcasm that goes along with it. You have a great layout and a great railroad car collection. I wondered what you been doing during the winter to entertain yourself and now I know! You really crack me up. I always look forward just seeing your next video. You must be some kind of telepathy going on here because I've been thinking about you for the past 2 weeks wandering how are you doing. Thanks for sharing this video. I wish I lived closer to you. We would have a blast running your trains and checking out your cars. Thanks for sharing a great video. Looking forward to the next one. Try not to drive your wife crazy!

I am glad to hear positive remarks of the MTH engines. Also, of the Railing switcher. JH
