One option to consider for additional ways to fill the content gaps is speed drawing. Some people seem to really enjoy this part of the creation process, it can be a fun way to introduce some of your characters over time, and sometimes people who take this route create promotional art that they can sell to their fans, either mass produced or auctioned to the highest bidder.
