I like to take Amtrak and learned about the battle from my room attendant when we went through there many years ago. I had heard a little bit about it before because of reading about Chivington at the Sand Creek Massacre which happened a couple of years later. But my room attendant went into a lot of detail and I’ve always appreciated his perspective. He had been through there hundreds of times and he made it come alive to me.
