    I too listened on another channel. But this is. Worth listening again for the details and because of the torrent of Maugham stories I’ve been listening to… Have you noticed how boredom was the greatest threat like dementia is for us common folk to worry about nowadays 😊

    Jane is a fascinating character. I wish I could know her and be invited to her parties and see who I might see there. I wonder where & how she met her young man? Jane does things that I might do — if given the opportunity!

    on marrying younger, she's correct again, marrying well beneath your own age her observation is also true- there is no conversation.

    I am realizing as i read these stories that I have no first language. I can write English but i cant write a good letter or story then in my other language I can speak but not read and write. Colonialism
