For pollen management the flower beds with the flowers can have them but you need to build up to get them. Best place for easy pollen is the flower bed close to the shed. As well for base defenses try mushroom walls. Prerequisites for mushroom structures is to research a mushroom, Toadstool or Mushroom chunk and gives you mushroom slurry. Then you cook the slurry to get mushroom brick, research the brick and you now have mushroom structures. Best ones for most slurries are toadstools for 10 slurries or mushroom chunk for 8, which can be planted in the Planter but takes 72 hours to grow. Fertilizer doesn’t give you more chunks or speed the growth process.

Making everything right side up, but keeping the UI up side down is some next level wizardry.
