How-To: Building An NKP Flat Car | PSC | 7.5" Gauge

In this How-To tutorial, we walk you through the process of assembling a 1.5” scale version of General Steel Casting 53 1/2' flat car kit offered by Precision Steel Car Company.

At the time of publication, PSC has a limited quantity of flat car kits in stock so, if you are interested in purchasing a kit, do not delay.

Correction** we used a right angle grinder not a die grinder and a shoulder bolt is used for attaching the trucks not a machine screw.

    I’m building a Kozo A3, caboose from the Jackman plans on dls, and a PSC Reefer. I have always been wary of using shoulder bolts with trucks. My fear is that they would work loose over time. Is this a thing or am I overthinking it? You know ILS is like an hour away from me and I’ve never been there. Maybe I should make this the year.

    Tig welding is not easy. Mig welding will work just as well. If converting the flat car to passenger car I would recommend gmaw welding and stronger then both tig or mig.

    Don't like the graphics...that's for cheaters.....paint masks are better
