Fashion Show Winners (Dental Hygiene)

Brenda Torres (Perio Queen) and Oscar Montemayor (Daddy Dental) competed in the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association (TDHA) 2017 Annual Session fashion show, winning the first place prize. Brenda and Oscar are dental hygiene students at UT Health San Antonio (formerly known as the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio). The theme of the fashion show was “Roaring into the Future”, and the models’ costumes are made entirely out of dental materials.

(Oscar)
The very handsome and suave Oscar is rocking an impressive futuristic outfit. The costume fabric is made entirely out of sleek, black dental lab coats, from his boot covers to his majestic collar that has suction straws within the gown material. His boot covers, made of black dental lab coat sleeves, have laces made of tie strings from white dental gowns, embellished with glitter made of blue metallic toothpaste boxes and silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The admirable Oscar is also rocking slacks, an under jacket, and a long coat, all made of black dental lab coats. The under jacket is embellished with 50 mirrors removed from plastic mouth mirrors, and rows of glitter made of blue metallic toothpaste boxes and silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The long coat is enveloped with dental gloves in a variety of colors including black, grey, clear, and royal blue. The fine and strong Oscar is gracing a dental mask with strips of silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes like a knight in shining armor.

The stunningly gorgeous Brenda is rocking an exquisite futuristic outfit. The fabric is made entirely out of sleek, black dental lab coats. Her boot covers, made of black dental lab coat sleeves, have delicate butterflies made of dental napkins for the wings and disposable prophy angles for the body of the butterflies. There are also lovely flowers, made of dental napkins, and dental paper tray covers for the pedals. The centers of the flowers have a mirror from a plastic mouth mirror and a pen cover. There is also a trail of dazzling glitter, made of blue metallic toothpaste boxes and silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The angelic Brenda is also rocking pants, a half cape, and a sleeveless top, all made of black dental lab coats. Attached to the pants are long strips of pink and yellow dental gowns. The sleeveless top is embellished with 2 gentle butterflies resting on Brenda’s right shoulder, made of dental napkins for the wings and disposable prophy angles for the body of the butterflies. Crossing from shoulder to waist are a row of delightful flowers, made of dental napkins, and dental paper tray covers for the pedals. The center of the lovely flowers are made of mirrors from a plastic mouth mirror, prophy paste, rolled white dental gown, and the lid of a molar shaped baby tooth container. There are also trails of sparkling glitter, made of blue metallic toothpaste boxes and silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The half cape is enveloped with numerous flowers. The flower pedals are made of dental napkins, dental paper tray covers, dental lab coat material, clear, blue sterilization plastic, dental masks, dental hygiene instrument packaging strips, x-ray foil, and x-ray film paper. The center of these lavish flowers are made of mirrors from plastic mouth mirrors, prophy paste, rolled white and pink dental gown, gloves, the tie string of a yellow dental gown, tooth paste boxes, silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes, and pen covers. There are also trails of glitter made of blue metallic toothpaste boxes and silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The marvelous and captivating Brenda is gracing a grand fan, made of 44 Colgate and Crest toothpaste boxes, 5 blue bonnets, one pink dental gown, and white dental gown material. The fan has 3 delicate butterflies made of teal and orange colored dental masks for the wings, and multicolored toothbrushes for the butterfly bodies. Surrounding these butterflies are silver metallic hearts, made of the silver cardstock from the crest supreme professional whitening boxes. The fan has straps made of 24 black dental gloves, twisted into rope with flowery accents in between each glove.
