Zero friction cycling has some questionable testing methods and lacks any professional engineering qualifications. One of my engineering friends who works for a large chain manufacturer is checking his data out.
  • A cheap home brew chain spray is Lemon Pledge furniture polish. It's base is paraffin wax. Works great for a bike polish as well
  • I have a Cannondale hybrid straight bar, bought it for 95 quid, and had it 8 years. From Halfords I've paid about 18 quid for two chans in that time. I have just bought the wax squirt and it's better than the dry, wet lube from muc off. I went on the web site of this bloke you are talking about. He actually said "If you've any integrity, you wouldn't follow Durianrider" Mate, that's bang out of order, something wrong with the mindset to say that! I' m working class, blue collar, whatever, but I've the mindset not to pay more than what I paid for my bike to get a chain! Harley, there is no one on YouTube with the passion/knowledge you have on bikes and how they work. Cheers mate🤗

I just use use squirt lube. 11 sterling a bottle lasts ages easy to apply. Job done

Ozcycle is the best and I've waxed my chain using his method. I used badger wax which supplies the wax, PTFE and chains for very reasonable prices locally.
  • For cycling Oz cycle did soooo much , and showed in tests and explanation how to do it and follow-up questions, he made it sooooo clear and easy to do it , so you can have results 10/10
  • I lube my chain with animal lard as it's healthier for my bike. Nobody's bike can live without animal fats! Trust me, my bike tried to be plant-based oil for a year and the chain kept kinking up and over time, my bike got slower and slower from deficiencies and anemia. It almost rusted away! My bike had low iron. Bikes were born to survive off animal lard! I also fill my hydraulic brakes and coat my disks with animal lard. Cantilever brakes are for weight weenies. Besides, stopping fast is for pansies and it just wears out brake pads quicker.

I just cleaned my chain and cassette with dish soap... All these degreasers, solvents and stuff don't work as well in my opinion.
  • So where is he wrong? You rant about generalities without any concrete points
  • @keefmillard
W****r wax ☝🏽 love it ✅ great video fella 👍🏽
  • Hi from France, i discovered chain waxing via Oz Cycle, had to buy a rice cooker, heaps of candles, but it's evolved now,you can get all you need through the internet, you really can make an excellent "home brew" for next to nothing, an amazing person Oz Cycle.
  • @MrIanD1
Awesome tip. I went over to OZ Cycle YouTube page. Going pick up the supplies on the weekend.
  • Zero friction, ceramic speed, etc, Real cyclists can smell the bullsh, but there are many idiots that these people are targeting and thats fine too, makes me decide who I like riding with and who I don't. Business is business in Sales.
  • I’ve done oz’s process and it’s legit. Most people freak when they see me dry rubbing my chain like that. Squirt is good enough tho
  • @shmoejoe1
I’ve done Oz cycling’s method and it works great. Some of the smoothest rides and cleanest chains I’ve ever had! But a bit of a time investment and with a busy family life I’ll go with Squirt also. Been an OG Squirt user since DR recommended it back in the day! 👍🏻

Oz cycle is the best chain wax videos. Also videos about bicycle wash, service etc. You can even do wax in a bottle, just watch his latest videos about wax for chain.
  • @porkyparry1
Every time i wax my old barbours and wax my chain i thank the bees for keeping me dry keeping me on the road, amazing stuff
  • Find an old pot. Melt big blocks of paraffin wax in it to fill to 1 inch below rim. Put the pot under your chain between derailleur and crank. Remove chain from crank ring to create slack and use your hand to tweak derailleur for even more slack --- enough slack to droop ~8 links into the hot molten wax. Submerse the entire chain, one drooped 8 link section at a time. Submersing is vastly superior to squirting -- the molten wax get DEEPER inside the chain. After, let the pot of wax cool and reuse forever. I've been using same pot for over 10 years.

I hope we see that race. But don't think we will sadly
