This would be a great side event for local club field day participants.

The fact that the radio-menu challenges exist at all is an indictment of radio manufacturers and the way these radio configuration menus are done. Also, this is fantastic.

Jason, I loved this idea so much that I finally signed up as a Patreon. I’m going to use this idea with a group of friends that I’ve been helping get into amateur radio. - Jim

This is brilliant. We did something similar a few years ago at a statewide MCV exercise. I like how this is tailored for hams. Thanks for sharing Jason.

Sounds like a great activity. Might even get kids into ham radio!
-
This is an inspiring project. And to be fair, all of my HT rigs are programmed with local channel plan manually a while back or via a PC, so these basic skills on field programming are great to have to keep fresh. Love it.

Have to admit...that's a pretty cool idea and does look like a very fun way to learn the basics of an HT. Well done! 73

Jason, that looks like it would be a lot of fun. This would be fun, as mentioned in another comment, for a Field Day activity. A club could even do this to help keep members active in things when there isn't a Field Day event or some special event or even emergency preparedness activity. Clubs need things to keep their members active. Thanks for sharing. Been a long time since I have comment on one of your videos. Kind of taken another siesta from radio, but haven't given up on it. Just a lot of things going on in life. Juddie - WD8WV

Brilliant! This belongs in QST!
-
This is a great idea, I think our club can probably have some fun with this... It's definitely given me an idea or two!
-
That was creative. You could do it outside, miles between objectives, climbing a mountain to make a simplex QSO with net, etc. Fun stuff.
-
Awesome. Great idea!
-
Very well done! This is a great idea.

This is an excellent idea, another tool besides Fox hunting for a club activity!
-
That was a lot of fun, thanks for putting it together Jason and Mike!

Did the participants get to eat the M&M's :). This video has got me thinking about what sort of ham radio olympics our local club could come up with. Thanks for the fun video. It was a pleasure to meet you in Dayton a few weeks back. David - VA3DWL.
