Those glue-on additions just doubled the value of his truck

The city of Chicago takes care of this for me, the streets are full of potholes, I see them in time to dodge them but the person tailgating me doesn’t see them in time and hits them!
  • @awfullyawful
Don’t use all the glue! You’re gonna need it to keep that truck together.

When our son first moved out he loved to tailgate, made him feel macho or something. After his 4th rear-ender in 2 months, his insurance company dropped him like a hot potato. When he went hunting for another company they wanted $900.00 bucks a month! He finally returned his plates to DMV, kept the car as a fancy driveway decoration, and pedaled his happy backside all over town (begging rides when it snowed) for 3 years. Not to mention the difficulty he had getting his dates to pick him up during that time... Yeah, he doesn't tailgate anymore. People can be taught.

Funny, but now you have about 50 cars trying to catch you to tell you that you have a boot and a coffee mug on your truck....

Had a guy tail gating me last night on my way home from work. Doing 53 in a 50 zone and he got so pissed off that he turned on his fog lights, high beams, and light bar. A couple minutes afterwards red and blue lights flashed behind us and pulled us both over. He got a ticket and I was free to go :)

....but the officer called that...speeding. Dude. As a man who believes humor is the best weapon with which to fight both evil AND stupidity, I have to report you just earned yourself a subscriber.

Saw an old geezer who has an axe welded to his bumper. It is leaning up like he forgot it only minutes ago.

Advantages of having a 30 year old truck with a 4 speed manual. I just drop a gear and dump the clutch. No brake lights. Just a big ol steel bumper closing in on em. That’s why I leave the hitch in the receiver.
  • @juistian
I put a bumper sticker that said, "I break for no apparent reason" beneath a dent in my trunk lid. Tailgaters would back off quickly after reading it.

I used to have a Chevy van with no reverse lights, so I wired them into a switch on the dash. Never had a tailgater stay close on my tail after I flicked them on while slamming the brakes on.
  • @skyserf
I think there was a little bit of truck on that spot of rust.
  • @jonwilliams2826
I take my foot off of the throttle and gradually slow down without touching the brakes. I'll coast to a complete stop. It drives tailgaters crazy.
  • @Enjoymentboy
My personal favourite is a handful of pennies and an open sunroof. With practice they can be tossed upwards and out without anyone behind seeing the movement.

I just took some 1/2 copper pipe put together like a Gatling Gun barrel, made a tripod, a little bit of black and brass spray paint. Set that bad boy in the back of my truck pointed out the tailgate and when Tommy Tailgater decides to get too close, just hit the auto drop on the tailgate and watch him slam on his brakes. I have had the police called on me several times for this tho, but once they see it's just pipe and the reason it's there, they laugh too.
  • @speedfreak8200
I simply pull over & let them go by ... no brake check, maybe they will get a speeding ticket or you will see them at the next stop light, but eliminates road rage... has worked well for me
  • @wadeguidry6675
You are a mad genius! I'm gonna glue an old refrigerator to the roof of my van halfway hanging off of it and at an at an odd angle!
  • Feb. 2018---Family friend had a different tactic. Hooked a switch to his brake lights so when he turned it on, the brake lights suddenly came on while he just cruising down the road.

Back when I was 19 and stupid, I got rid of a tailgater on my Ford Fairmont real quick. I applied my brakes and I heard his tires squeal as he quickly moved to the other lane. I laughed my ass off. I don't suggest anyone do that. There could have been serious consequences. Another story. My dad once backed into a parking spot with our 77 Ford Supercab at the time. When he put it in park, he forgot to set the brake, and there was enough play that the truck rolled back and tapped the Corvette behind it. There was a bit of damage. He found the owner, and I guess Dad left the updated policy at home. So he had the owner follow. Dad said the Vette owner tailgated him all the way. When Dad came upon a quick stop sign on his route home, he said he came very close to slamming on his brakes, and then after the collision saying "OK, asshole! Now you owe me!" But Dad was not that kind of person. He let it go, and handled his responsibility.

At night when someone tail gates me! I turn my side mirrors so their head lights blind them! They back off real quick or pass me real fast. IT works awesome. IF they continue to tail gate THEY blind them selves. Not my problem.Shawn
