If you are a Berserk fan or anime/manga fan in general, Vagabond is a must read. My first Impressions and review of Vagabond, the art and quality of the philosophical themes are phenomenal. The only downside....hiatus. I just cant seem to escape it.

  • 6:43 fun fact: the mangaka actually draws the entire story with a brush instead of a pen

Berserk and Vagabond? Two of the best of all time. You have great taste in manga man. I recommend Vinland Saga, it’s great.
  • The thing about the vagabond is that it's very slow but my god that's also what makes it so good. They really take their time diving into musashi's mental state and his growth is just so satisfying to read.

While Vagabond may not have an actual ending, definitely check out Inoue’s THE LAST exhibition as it provides a sort of epilogue to the story and Musashi’s journey.

its a shame inoue lost the passion and will never complete it

When I finished reading the Sasaki Kojiro arc, I had this unusual yet cathartic sensation. Just seeing Kojiro growing up as he adapts his body to his surroundings while devoting his life to the "way of the sword", becoming Musashi's equal gave me such an immense satisfaction.
  • SPOILER: Musashi's battle with Inshun is my favorite part, not only in that both Musashi and Inshun learned a great deal from In'ei to become better people for it, but also that they didn't have to kill each other at the end, even became like friends.

Vagabond is a masterpiece, especially the Farming Arc.

I envy the people who have started vagabond. So many good memories

The most beautiful part of the manga for me is the last part where musashi had chosen to stay in a place where citizens are struggling to grow crops because of the conditions of the soil. He cease to seek the wisdom of life through being a warrior instead he pursue seeking wisdom through farming and caring for a community. Vagabond is just a straight up masterpiece.

This manga is the epitome of just striving for something in life in general. This manga changed my life drastically.there aren’t good enough words to describe the essence of this art work. It’s truly a direct experience that can’t be described you have to just read it for yourself

When Mask has a son he gonna give him these old Japanese Philosophy whoopings
  • For who read the manga but dont read the book "Musashi" i strongly recommend. Inoue interpretation of the book, through the manga, is amazing. He transform Sasaki Kojiro, a young, arrogant and gifted samurai, who is a very basic and two dimensional villain in the book, into a deaf, mute and innocent character, who can only communicate through the art of the sword, for he dont know speak by signs. The saga of Sasaki Kojiro in the mangas is simply beautiful, i love it. Make's me very sad that Inoue dont have the inspiration to finish the manga. The last saga, compared to the rest, is very poor drawn, the tiredness of inoue is clear. But i will keep my hopes up, pehaps one day. Vagabond is the very best manga i'ver read, same as the book.

Am I the only one who’s favorite arc was the rice farming? THAT is what we call growth. Musashi seemed like he almost had the answer afterward and just needed to duel kojiro to finally get it. Oh well I can only dream of it finished
  • I am currently on 261st chapter of Vagabond and tbh in the start, it was just simple samurai and I did not really know what the hype was every after reading about 150 chapters but then as I keep on reading the manga just grows on me. For me, Vagabond is not something that has like extraordinary twists or plots but is simply just samurai and I don't even know when I started really really really loving it
  • Currently 160 chapters in. I don’t think there’s been a single character - not even the side ones - who I thought was boring. Every single one of them gets these beautiful little story arcs that all tie in to the story’s main themes in one form or another. If I had to choose a favorite character (besides Sasaki) it would probably be Inshun. He starts off as almost naive and playful, but the second he steps into battle his composure completely changes. It was just so shocking to watch a monk of all people behave that way. Anyone who loves the carefully paced Seinens like Berserk or Vinland owes it to themselves to try Vagabond.
