Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

    Concerning cargo, keep in mind that outposts do not have auto-loading and are pretty much limited to 24SCU containers. So filling up a C2 with Beryl will take an effort. How we used to do our commodities trading/hauling will be much different!!!

    the 30 second timer is there for you to remember to add them to your crew/party as you forgotten. and walked into the hangar

    Ok, It seems to me everyone in this chat is not aware or forgot that people not in your party will not have a way to get to your hanger other then sneaking on to your elevator. Buttons on the elevators are changing to only take people to their or their party's hangers.

    It'd be cool if they allowed you to pack missiles and ballistic ammunition into boxes, then unpack them to install into your ship when you're getting low, manually putting in the missiles and such. You could really get some fleet action then.

    5:17 The 30-second timer might also be for people who might forget to bring someone into the party. That amount of time gives you plenty of wiggle room to realize and rectify such problems.
  • I also agree with the thought of just booting intruders out. I do like the change in armistice zones for hangars. Now we can stock our ships.

    ah yes.. because the big "TRESPASSING" text on the screen isnt tell enough that they're in the wrong hangar. no one is doing that by accident lol, you have to choose your specific hangar which others can't even see the option for. there is no such thing as accidentally ending up in someone's hangar...

    the hangar should have an antechamber after the lift. if you arent in party that door just wont open. but you could ring it to get authorization. kind of a soft party allowing access to the hangar but not to ships.

    I like the 30sec timer, as long as we can kill bounties during that time. Or, I suggest that if you have someone's bounty, you don't get a trespassing charge. It would make for interesting gameplay waiting for someone in their hanger and/or ship if you are working their bounty.

I would NOT place bets on this update being rolled out before late next month. the 30 second timer thing is something that really should be removed in a future update. I can only see it as being temporary for a few years. oh, what about the simpod? remember that one? when are we getting that one back for our hangars?

    I will use my hangar as ive allways used it, GTFO the planet, and set my spawn at hex. And only return when absolutly nessecary

    My opinion of the 30 second timer sort of rolls into my opinion on CIG's current approach to PvP: "The game is still in development so we don't have enough content for them. Let them kill each other and entertain themselves so we can focus on getting the game finished and in a playable state". I think it's a somewhat cynical and somewhat practical move. You're absolutely right that 30 seconds is only enough time for mayhem and not really anything else. So the loop will be: sneak into someone's hangar and do a little murder, you get a crime stat (if the player you killed isn't on a potato PC/slow connection/their black screen wait time isn't longer than the CS timer), and then I'm assuming the devs hope this will spark a chain of tit-for-tat that will keep you busy and out of their hair.

  • The 30 second timer iis so easily used to grief people that one is reminded of the phrase "this is why we just can't have nice things." Shit or get off the pot CIG. Either it is the player's place, and make it secure... or make it just as attackabole as everywhere else, not a home, and nothing special. Fascinating how in a place where we will intentionally be distracted by a gameplay loop that is all about being armed with tools, not weapons, that we can get assaulted through our entry. That my home in this century and the last one has more security by simply locking a door than a multiple million credit vehicle is protected by in centuries to come. If every bit of the universe has to spend it's time sucking PVP cock, who exactly does "stand your ground" apply to? Because all players get a hangar, but only a small number want them raided regularly while sorting your possessions, and readying your gear. Seems that is the small percentage CIG sallows for.
