  • Not impressed with this video was hoping it would show how to pour a couple of basic designs. A little misleading.

who else is watching this for their job?

I learned two things from the video. 1) There’s a 0% chance I can do this and 2) the people at my local coffee shop are amazing.

Another tip I want to add for beginners, use whole milk. Whole milk is a lot easier to make latte art with than it is with semi-skimmed or skimmed. Once you've mastered latte art with whole milk, then try with semi-skimmed and skimmed.

When first learning, especially when you are the consumer, practice on a single shot... so you can try more times before the shakes get you.
  • i'm a barista at starbucks, my #1 tip is don't get too in your head! let muscle memory take over. the first time i was able to do latte art was completely on accident- the day prior i dumped like 5 flat whites trying to get anything other than a simple dot. the next day, during a rush, i quickly poured milk for a random drink and didn't even realize i did the motions of making a heart until i went to put a lid on and noticed a perfect heart!!! my own heart was full!! not thinking too hard about it allowed me to be more free and fluid, which made all the difference. don't stress, it will come with time, just practice and take it easy! all love :)

Thank you for this amazing video! I have now been through three espresso machines and each one was an upgrade mostly because of watching videos like this. I haven’t been able to do any impressive art but I am getting some swirls. I also caved and started using real milk because I read that is important for the foam.
  • I'm glad you said try to do something different, all my latte art doesn't look like anything i would get in a coffee shop i feel much better now.
