I have been inundated with comments from many of you asking me if there is a difference between TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF and INTRODUCE YOURSELF. The simple answer is yes, there is a difference!

In this video, I will explain the difference between these two questions and give you brilliant, top-scoring answers to help you pass your interview!

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL AND GIVE THE VIDEO A LIKE. THANK YOU 🙏 🤩

And, just very quickly, please tell me the name of the job you are being interviewed for in the comments section below the video, and I will give you some extra tips to help you prepare!

To begin with, let me teach you the difference between tell me about yourself and introduce yourself. Please take notes!
Right at the very start of your job interview, the hiring manager will say to you either TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF or INTRODUCE YOURSELF and your answer give must be strong enough to create a positive first impression!

The difference between the two interview questions is this:

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF is more in-depth, and it covers the following 4 things:
1. The SKILLS you have that match the job description
2. Your EDUCATIONAL qualifications and EXPERIENCE.
3. ACHIEVEMENTS you have gained in life so far.
4. The TYPE of person you are, and what you will do in the role once you start work for the company.

You will notice that those four things—Skills, Education and Experience, Achievements, and the Type of person you are—stand for S.E.A.T.

You can easily remember the 4 things to say when answering the question tell me about yourself because you will be sitting on a SEAT at your job interview!

The INTRODUCE YOURSELF interview question is different.
When answering this question, you should give a brief introduction of your PAST, what you are doing now (the PRESENT) and what your PLANS for the future are. This structure standards for PPP. Past, Present, and PLANS!

OK, now that we know the difference between tell me about yourself and introduce yourself, let me give you a brilliant sample answer to each one. Please write these down…

Listen to this guy, he really knows what he's saying. Thanks to his advice I got the job that I wanted and another company also had me as the final candidate but I had to reject them. This was 5 months ago but I still feel extremely grateful.
  • Thanks to your coaching, I got the job. I'm from the Netherlands and English was a requirement. I speak Dutch and French, my new boss is English and I wanted to make a good impression and I did. Thank you very much, I appreciate all your support and I want to tell job candidates to believe in you and your coaching.

Thank you for your wonderful and helpful videos! I found your channel after I struggled in a recent interview. It was full of questions like, "tell me about a time when you had a project that went well, and a project that went less well" and "where do you see yourself in five years." I had researched the company, but I hadn't prepared for these types of questions. I'll confess my answers were jumbled. There are a lot of things in the job process we can't control, but we CAN prepare our answers to common interview. questions. I'll use the resources here and won't make the same mistake in an interview again :)

Good afternoon, I wanted to take time out to thank you for these videos. I recently came across them as I got back into the job market after 2 months of unemployment. I enjoyed my break, but it was time to get back to adulting. Although they didn't ask the same or expected questions, listening to, and taking notes from your videos gave me the confidence and preparedness I needed for the interviews that I dread (being on the spot/attention). I was offered a call-back and the job in the same week! 🎉 Thanks again! 😊
