Thank you for the Great Video. For me this is real close to my heart. My father sailed for APL / Sealand when I was a kid. He said he would bring me along for a Pacific trip to Japan. He never got the chance to do it. He passed away. He was a third generation Merchant Marine and a Captain. Thanks aging for the Memories

Thanks to these awesome vlogs, i now have that bug again lol. I miss the sea so much now. Was in the US Navy for 6 years aboard CVN-70 USS Carl Vinson from 1998 - 2004 as an Aviation Ordnanceman, and now, at 41 years old, i would give my left eye to be abaord the Montana with you as a crewmate (shipmate). I miss the smell of salt water in the air, the spray of the sea during storms, the sound of the gulls overhead close to land, the sunsets and the comradarie. Im probably too old for Maersk operations now but sure would love to be out on the sea again. Thanks for sharing your vlogs with us. Fair winds and following seas.

Thanks for this I am a current merchant seaman I will be bringing my 36 years going to sea retirement on October 30th 2019

It’s remarkable how neat and clean the boat is kept.
  • I was an AB for over 40 yrs, sailing on most types of ships, container ships are the most boring for an AB, had the good fortune to sail on a few Maersk gas tankers in the mid 80s carrying methane worldwide, good ships withgood food and plenty of overtime, retired now and reside in Thailand.

Very detailed video. For people like me, who have never been on such a ship, I must say, it is quite dangerous life but for the sailors it is just another day. Thanks for showing all & everything with such care.

This was a very interesting video. Not often do you get to see the inner workings of a huge cargo ship. It still amazes me how they can navigate such a huge ship. I doesn't seem like it can stop on a dime.

This is unbelievable ! These guys have got brains.thankyou.the pressure from the sea with all of that weight bearing down on the bottom must be frightening.
  • @Skorrigan
I dont know why it was recommended to me but it's facinating :)

Wow engine room clean no oil on the floor. I worked in a dairy... with someone who was on container ships... He always told how clean CS were now I believe him . Appreciate You.
  • @jeepvette7723
Very cool. I enjoyed the engine room the most. So many moving parts to keep those ships operating. Impressive.
  • My husband worked from 1970 - 1996 for ACL then Maersk sea port. This video brings me fond memories. Thank you guys!!!
  • @thany3
Looks fairly decent, I must say. Not a 5-star hotel, but it's a job, not a holiday. Looks like Maersk takes pretty good care of its staff.
  • @wjlintz
    A floating city.  Amazing!
  • @PAULLONDEN
How impressive this all is, it keeps men and women to keep this all functioning... Personally I couldn't work in such surroundings , but have that much more admiration for those who can. Thanks for this tour.
  • I really find container ships and the life/environment of the merchant marine truly fascinating. Thanks!
  • @tutekohe1361
Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for showing us around your ship.
  • @tonytong3870

Thanks for getting back to me, enjoyed your tour. When I was 10, my Family was on our standard two week Vacation in New Hampshire. We met and became friends with a Merchant Marine officer, who was an Engineer On the Tanker Gulfknight. He had a cottage next to ours and we invited him on several boat trips. He was a true Sailor , born in Norway. This was back in the mid fifties, and Mr. Stenslin made a very strong impression on myself and my Family.
