I hope this video will be useful for those who plan to visit Russia at this time, for people who (like me) struggled with transferring money to or from Russia, and for those who wondered what life is like in the most sanctioned country in the world. 📍 More videos: https://youtu.be/ILsj2LDl10U - Life in Russia after sanctions - ULTIMATE journey through the east to the west https://youtu.be/Rec-kWEZC_A - How Russians Really Live : GREY SOVIET BUILDINGS EXPLAINED
  • You will not see ads if you're watching YouTube from Russia? That's a major bonus lol

Hello from Iran 🇮🇷 the country that had the highest rate of sanctions before the said date. unfortunately unlike Russia the sanctions and government corruption effects the daily life of normal folks here a lot. prices has doubled up. accessing VPNs is harder than even before. and famous brands and using international banking system were never a thing here. and yes you won't get advertisements if you manage to find a working DNS instead of a VPN. I hope this comment find you well. hope someday all people will be able to live with peace and freedom.
  • Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 great content 😊 Have a wonderful day 🌈🌞 I think we are all hoping for a brighter future for everyone.

As a German, I was surprised to find out, that Raiffeisen Bank also exists in Russia.

I'm a Brit living in the UK and have just returned from 10 days in Russia. Everything Eli says is correct. I flew to Tallinn, Estonia and then took the coach to Saint Petersburg. I booked return coach travel before leaving UK as LuxExpress have a business base in Europe so cards work to pay them. The border at Narva/Ivangorod is pedestrian only so one coach drops you at the Estonian border crossing point and then another coach is on the other side of the river/bridge in Russia waiting to take you onwards. The advantage of this route is flights to Tallinn from UK are cheap and the return coach fare came to about £80. You also see a lot of the countries looking out the coach windows and the coaches were very comfortable with hot drinks, free bottled water and good Wifi. I stayed a couple of nights in SP and then took the train to Moscow which was a fantastic experience especially since on return I booked the Sapsan non stop train and the service in business class was awesome with breakfast part of the ticket. Train tickets were £59 going (economy class) and £95 returning (business class). Apart from wanting to see SP I stayed there for 2 nights to get a breather after the journey but I have known people get the train to Moscow as soon as they arrive on the coach in SP. If you do this it competes very well time wise versus flying to Turkey (from UK) and then taking a flight to Moscow. The flight option is also more expensive. One thing with the Yandex app for taxis you can go into the settings and select that you want to pay cash. I enjoyed every single minute of my time in Russia and the people I came into contact with were lovely and went out of their way to provide assistance when I needed it. Regarding the visa I was able to get an e-visa since I also hold an Irish (EU) passport. I applied on line and I received the e-visa after 3 days. It's valid for 60 days and the maximum stay is 16 days (for one visit) - remember day of arrival and day of departure count as days to the max 16 days. With the ramifications of the sanctions a trip takes some organising but it's well worth the effort. Also I was able to buy Roubles at a good rate online from a company based in the UK.

Love your videos. Thanks for them. I'm in Australia and traveled in Russia when it was the USSR in 1987. I was there for the 70th anniversary of the October revolution. I really enjoyed traveling in a country where there was no advertising - advertising is such an eyesore :) I found the Russian people to be really helpful and friendly and on the whole, very happy, it is a beautiful place.
  • Absolutely fascinated by your content even though I am originally from and currently back in Russia. I guess it’s the way you present yourself - with such ease and honesty. Also, it’s so curious to observe the everyday things we encounter or the things we know being delivered in English. Makes me feel like a foreigner wanting to go to Russia. Anyway, you’re doing great, you go girl! Very excited to have stumbled upon your channel.

My dream as an American since I was a kid is to speak Russian and visit Russia. My first book report as a kid was about Russia. I’m working on learning the Russian language and will visit or live there when I’m retired. Thanks for all the effort you put into educating your viewers. Absolutely amazing.

My girlfriend is Russian. The people there are great and fun to be around with. I currently know some Russian but still learning. I wish nothing but the best from a USA citizen.

Love your videos. They give a really nice peak into life of ordinary people, such as myself, but of course with a Russian flavor. You are smart and have a wonderful attitude. I hope nothing but the best for you.
  • With the dependency on Russian resources before all this happened, we certainly aren't freezing to death over here, like some have claimed.
  • Much love from Arizona, Eli! I’m glad you’re doing well and the sanctions don’t affect you directly. May we all find peace one day
