It’s 2.42am I’m just going bed after spending a day working on my bathroom in which I’ve used JG pushfits and I realised after seeing this, I forgot to put inserts in the last 2 pushfits before connecting the bath up. You’ve just earned my thanks, and a subscription 👍🏾

#4 clean allll the paint off the pipe first otherwise you'll have water pouring through my ceiling, I mean someone's ceiling.
  • @SteveN-pw4dj
I might be wrong, but i thought forgetting the pipe inserts was a bigger problem on the hot side as the hot water softens the pipe. My sister worked in a care home where a couple popped off on the hot side... No pipe inserts... They checked a few more and the so called professional plumber company had not used any inserts and they had to shut it down for a month and movd everyone out to remake all the joints..

The tip about making sure the pipe is all the way in could save people a lot of trouble, brilliant.
  • Yep, our cowboy plumber cut the pipe on the slant in our upstairs bathroom, and two weeks later, the pipe pushed off, and we had niagra falls happening down the stairs and through the kitchen ceiling.

Hello James. Love all your videos and humour. Can you tell me, do I need to change the pipes under the kitchen sink to accommodate a mixer tap? I have the old two tap sink and taps which I want to change. There are two pipes left and right for hot and cold. I was going to have a go myself but I think it might need a plumber. Thank you. 👍🤗

Hep fittings require silicone grease unless they are now coming pre-lubricated?
  • @saxmanzzz
Just bought Hep2o connectors for the first time. This video was excellent - thanks !

@plumberparts why didn't you upload this video a week earlier!! The only mistake i did was that I didn't debur inside of copper pipe before inserting into pushfit. It's now behind a wall and boarded. Is it a major issue?
  • @CH-en4er
Thanks for the tips ...and as entertaining as ever !
  • Hi ya iv just put a copper pipe in to a plastic connector. and its stuck .just seen ya video tried the screw driver. were do I get that plastic removal tool from plz
  • @disarchitected
Should the pushfit fitting be able to rotate on the pipe? I have a Tectite Isolation Ball valve thats connected to a dishwasher inlet, that rotates on the pipe. I’m having to replace the washer on the dishwasher inlet hose because that is leaking. Was wondering if I have to sort out the isolation valve as well?

Thing is, do all plumbers go round to the back of they're vans, open the door slightly, & do a poo in to a black dustbin bag at side of road on the high street, or is it just the guy I work with? 😂 Not jokin either!!
  • @tirvplumbing
Bonus tip no chrome or stainless in push fit the grab ring teeth can't bite into the harder metals and your fitting will blow off at some point.
  • My biggest mistake was becoming a plumber in the first place after the mistake of being born
