Trøllabundin means spellbound. In the viking age, 'Galder' was a kind of magic song that was used in seiðr (magic/witchcraft) practiced by mainly women, and to 'galdra' was to affect something by magic singing.

This song makes me feel homesick and nostalgic for a place I've never been to.

I am Italian, so very far, culturally, from her world...but every time I hear that throat singing/whispers, I feel something ancient calling me and telling me to go "lose myself to find myself" in the woods. And I did...several times... there's probably hundreds of "ME" that got lost among those trees that I left behind, and thousands are still waiting there for me to find them. Magic

English translation- Spellbound Spellbound I am, I am The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul In my heart burns a sizzling fire, a sizzling fire Spellbound I am, I am The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me Spellbound in my heart's root, my heart's root My eyes gaze to where the wizard stood

Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe islands (off the Scandinavian coast) and sings in her beautiful, haunting Faroese language often......there are many live concert performances of this, all good.....she often sings with Einar Selvik of Wardruna....their duet of 'Helvegen' with full orcheastra and choir is moving.......
  • Easily the best musical performance I've seen in 2023. I feel bad for those that skip it because they don't understand the title.

I went to 2 of her concerts in Vienna years ago, afterwards I went to get her new album and take a photo with her. She said to me: "I love your outfit!" and I replied with "Thanks, I love you!" I still stand by that.

Occasionally you come across something so epic down the YouTube rabbit hole that blows your mind away. This gave me the goosebumps! It was so refreshing to be lost in such a soundscape and hear the human vocal cords producing unfamiliar sounds. Wow, she has such an amazing voice!

Eivor is magical. I thought her live version in a Norwegian fjord was the best ever, because of the echoes. Now I doubt. This Danisch orchestra adds more otherworld magic to it. Wonderful!
  • I fucking LOVE when she does the rhythmic chanting in this version. I love all the other versions but this one, with her metal ass outfit and the way she looks at the camera is so metal… like a Viking shield maiden that you DO NOT want to fuck with.

The voice of a Valkyrie, and the magical music, I got goosebumps. Epic, majestical.

I don't understand a word... but OMG my soul FEELS every word, sound, emotion. I love her facial emotion! What an amazingly talented human being. From the U.S. I am

Never seen anything like this before, but she just has awakened something deep within me. What is this? She seems like she is conjuring something ancient and magical. I can feel it 🤗

That one violinist with a helmet at 4:28 made me grin like a little kid 😁 Also very hauntingly beautiful performance

Her performance outside in Norway is breathtaking - her voice reverberates on the surrounding mountains. She is an amazing artist!
  • This is hands down the best live version I’ve seen. It haunts me, gets stuck in my mind and eyes. The throat singing the first time I watched / heard this I dropped everything I was holding. Music is universal; don’t fly by something you can’t read you miss treasures like this.
