Plane That Landed with Only One Wing

The plane had been in the air for a mere 25 seconds when the pilots noticed weird noises and vibrations. They tried several ways to improve the situation, but nothing worked. And just over a minute into the flight, when the plane reached 3,000 feet, both engines failed: first, the right one; two seconds later, the left one. It seemed like only a miracle could save the passengers. And then, one of the passengers came to the rescue.

  • Do you know the difference between a plane landing with one wing? And a plane losing a wing because it crash landed?
  • @alanjones4622
A very misleading title to this video which also shows multiple different aircraft and flight deck views. The plane crash landed with two wings and only lost parts due to hitting trees. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD 81 with tail mounted engines. The engine problem was caused due to ice breaking off the wings and being ingested into the tail mounted engines, a known problem. The fuselage broke into three pieces but miraculously no fire and nobody was killed. Passengers just walked out of the open ends of the broken fuselage. Check out Scandinavian Flight 751 crash for a more accurate story of this accident which happened in December 1991.

Bruh, the plane lost its wing seconds from impact. Im sitting here thinking they flew a plane with no wing, which is fundamentally almost impossible.
  • @kraaylandis
You have a GREAT channel. However, it is very annoying that you choose a misleading title to the video. This is not at all about a plane landing with one wing. Please keep it as informative and educational as it has always been; not games.
  • As a famous American tennis player once said "you can not be serious".
  • @1943L
Very confusing since there were at least three different aeroplanes shown. 4 engined catching fire, two engines under wings the one with two engines on the tail plane.
  • It did not land with “one wing” what actually happened was that its engines failed straight after it started climbing away from the airport. When it tried to land, they collided with the treetops, which made their wing fall off. They were only a few meters above the ground and they plowed straight into it causing the aircraft to break up into pieces
  • The only plane I ever heard that landed with one wing was a US F15 fighter jet at pretty high speed, and was put back into service if my memory serves me correctly!

So, the title is click bait and misleading. The plane had both wings when it crashed landed. Shame on Bright Side.
  • At timestamp 4:43 you mentioned the plane continued to Stockholm. But wasn't the flight originating in Stockholm and headed to Copenhagen and Warsaw? The video showed every model of aircraft. From B737 to A380.

Oh boy I clicked this too fast. Bad idea to watch an air crash video by a channel other than an aviation channel. Showing 4 different planes in the first 7 minutes or so, indicating the engines by 'the right and the left one' while showing a 4-engine plane, talking about the captain while showing a person in the first officer's seat, and showing a person in a costume while referring to the captain, and no flightsim. I just could not go on any further after this. I came back to see if the flight in question was actually identified, and it was after about 5 minutes. For those who would like to see this covered by an aviation channel: It's flight 751 scandinavial airlines, and is covered by Mini Aircrash Investigation, Airspace, Alec Joshua Ilbay, Mentour and The Flight Channel. YW!

No planes landing with one wing here… smh

Whoever sees this…Slow down, you’re doing fine! You can’t be everything you want to be before your time💓.It’s going to work out 💯
  • @lalitxgamer76
Watching 8.25 min video is better than spending 8 hour at school
  • @MadDragon75
It's nice to see more about the heroes of the aircraft disasters. Most of them will do anything to get their passengers safely on the ground.
  • @Jie0005
Just as well I watched this after my holidays
