I flew British Airways Business Class (Club Europe) on British Airways shortest flight from London - a 32 minute flight to Manchester! How good is their service on such a short flight?

  • You spend about 25 mins taxiing in London, 30 mins in the air and 5 mins taxiing to the gate at Manchester

Done this myself and I can totally agree how hard the cabin crew worked.
  • I've done the LHR MAN flight many times and I must concur that the staff work their socks off. Went out on the 09.00 and returned to LHR on the 17.00. Same plane, same crew, brilliant!

If there's one thing that's quite surprising about BA, it's that they have some seriously short-haul flights! I find it quite endearing that you can opt for full Business Class service on such tiny flights, and it looks like the crew didn't skip a beat here! Once I'm done with my master's degree, I'm definitely gonna give a small route like this a try, especially since my sister's heading to York for her undergraduate studies this September - I've wanted to try my hand at making trip reports for a while now, and I reckon short routes within the UK could be a pretty good place to start.
  • I flew from Gatwick to Manchester on a morning flight with Dan Air back in the early 1990s and they served a full cooked breakfast on what was a 35 minute flight. Probably why they went bust shortly after!

You got more service on that than I did on Club Europe LGW - EDI ! Great flight report πŸ‘

It really is a pleasure to come back and watch these video during the current pandemic. Hats off to the crew btw, really amazing.

Great work by the crew here! As crew myself I think the most intense service I've done was MAN-LCY on an Easter Sunday, with a full load thanks to no trains running to Euston that weekend and a gate to gate time of 44 minutes. Economy snack and bar service for 84 people delivered single handedly and cleared in with time to spare! Still don't quite know how I managed that.
  • Hi Noel A great trip report, its about time BA were delivering a good product. I see lots of trip reports and they aren't good which is a shame for our national carrier. I am even more pleased that you complimented the staff for their hard work. Kind regards DS

What a fun review! It reminds me of inter-island flights here in Hawai'i. I remember one 25 minute flight from Lihu'e Kaua'i to Honolulu. My seat mate showed me how to drink 3 beers in that time. I won't do that again. I was still burping 2 hours after landing. But that Hawaiian Air crew also worked as hard as the crew on your flight.

1:55 because it was a domestic flight and your not leaving the country

If you haven't already, you should do a video flying in to / out of Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, A unique beach airport in a stunning location.

Back in the days in the early noughties, when BA were using Birmingham almost as a secondary hub, they used to do a Birmingham - Newcastle flight. You literally did take off and then land. It was a tiny little business jet.
  • I'm glad to see you were able to access the business class lounge at T5. Not all business class fares allow access. Twice I've been denied access coming off long-haul flights (5-6am) to be turned away despite having a business class ticket through to Glasgow. Great video and a new sub.

Thank you Noel. Your review is most certainly the best I have seen of Club Europe flights πŸ‘βœˆοΈ

I've taken that route regularly for connecting flights from the USA to Manchester, they used to serve a complimentary sandwich and drink in world traveller.. Definitely beats travelling into Euston and getting the train. However the train is more convenient for people travelling from city centre to city centre. And

Nice take off vision...I would probably get the train in 1st class...Like you I am amazed they were able to serve some decent food and a glass of vino on such a short flight!! Not to mention clotted cream with the scones!! Great review and well done on commending the fantastic crew ( who have probably done this many times before!!)
