a mod that is a pretty good representation of socialism in minecraft would be Tektopia while there is some capitalist elements most of that is optional
  • @PhilipLaSnail
it is nice seeing you changing your content every now and then. keep up with the good work comrade.
  • It probably is far more complicated to emulate capitalism than communism within Minecraft. Barring a few things, it sounds like a normal Minecraft multiplayer gameplay?
  • @Prororo
    Bro horribly misunderstood the manifesto

The Quote about the sorcerer may be a refrence to Goethes "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"
  • actual leftist here, my take: 1) theres a difference between private property and personal property, you can own items as long as they aren't tools of exploitation. For example, if you go into a diamond mine and get a diamond yourself, that's personal property. If you stand around in front of the diamond mine and make people pay you to enter, or make people go into the mine to get diamonds for you, that's private property. This gets a little complicated with things like farms, you can't own a farm but you also can't go up to a communal farm and take all the crops for yourself. Basically, if you translate this to minecraft, what you'd wanna do is build your own house, work in the fields already provided by the villagers, and share the excess food without receiving payment. 2) There's nothing against using good tools in communist ideology lol 3) Gold itself isn't against communist ideals, just what it represents. If you mined it and smelted it yourself, it's your gold. 4) Stealing gold from piglins is the appropriate way to redistribute wealth, yes. They're pretty fuckin' accurate depictions of the bourgeoise. 5) Forcing all of the villagers to be farmers is about as anti-communist as you can get, what you just made is feudalism. The communist ideal (to my knowledge, keep in mind I'm not the CEO of communism so others might have other opinions) would be to ensure a collectivised surplus of necessary goods so that labor is voluntary, thus removing the ability of the upper class to threaten starvation of the lower class as a means of maintaining wealth and status. The communist thing to do would be to create an automatic crop farm, using hoppers and droppers to dispense food directly to villagers at their work sites or the village center (marked by a bell), who will redistribute it of their own accord. With their basic needs of food and shelter met, additional labor (such as smithing, masonry, brewing, and additional farmers) would be on a voluntary basis, thus creating an equitable society. You would also, ideally, provide a surplus of worker blocks, as villagers who have never traded with the player will change occupations whenever they feel like it, more closely approaching the communist ideal. This functions much smoother in minecraft than in real life because villagers don't technically need anything and will redistribute surplus food of their own accord. They don't even really use emeralds and never run out, they kinda just spontaneously generate the things as a means of acquiring goods they never use. So unless Mojang decides to add resource management to villages sometime soon, the Villagers start out pretty liberated and communist anyways, and you'd need to actively intervene to change that.
