Krauss actually handled this very well. Tyson is USED to being a lecturer. I have seen this happen so much in academics. Some PhDs are so used to being the dominating voices in a discussion. Tyson is OBVIOUSLY that, and full of good, illuminating knowledge. But Krauss, who is his equal, let his guest have his say and dominate the stage, as he should. This is actually quite promising for Kruass and his podcast.

My mother and her best friend conversed this way. Their minds were running so fast and they both know the other so well it sounds like they aren't being respectful in a conversation, but to each other they are connecting just fine.

26:42 "sorry to scream at you - I love it when you scream!" Haha this is great, great chemistry

OMG, that soft spoken opening. Lawrence missed his calling as a PBS radio announcer....

Just remember, just because someone has a lack all lapse of manners at times doesn’t mean that the content of what they’re saying should be dismissed, that’s an emotional reaction, not a logical one. Somebody could be rudely explaining how and why 2+2 equals 4, you may not like them but 2+2 still does equal 4

Krauss takes active listening to a whole new level with his “yeh yep uhhuh yehyeh mmhmm sure ohyeh absolutely indeed” 😂😂😂
  • Krauss: "...There are little elephants inside quarks!..." Now that is a proper sound-bite! LOL Great stuff, thank you.

I think that this has got to be one of the best conversations I've heard in years. This is something every science educator (or educator in general), science communicator, and student should watch. I think something like this would have been very illuminating and helpful to me 25 years ago when I was just starting out in college and working at a science museum. This is simply excellent. I am currently between jobs at the moment and I found this to be inspiring me to look again at the possibility of finding work in a nontraditional educational setting. It has been many years but the only time I ever felt truly fulfilled in a job was working in a science museum.

😂🤣 I just read all the comments about them interrupting each other all the time and how traumatic it seemed to be some. And I gotta admit that I barely noticed it.. Does that mean that I do the same thing when I'm engaging in conversations with people? Anyways.. great conversation guys!

For some reason I thought I'd never see you two on one youtube channel, and there you go... I hope one day both of you will get a "despacito" number of views.
  • Tyson is both an easy guy to interview because you don’t even have to ask him questions (sometimes he won’t even let you ask them) and a very difficult guy to have a reciprocal conversation with. Not dogging him or anything, Chomsky was similar...and I respect them both.

The fantastic thing about Mr Degrasse Tyson is you can still see that excited little boy and he gets me excited about things too. Another great interview 🌹🌹🌹
