Phillip and Ailin Skipper loved living life. They loved travel, spending time outdoors, and meeting new people. They realized, however, that much of their time, energy, and money were being spent on their home. Phillip researched tiny houses, and before long, he was building one. A few years later, they are in their 250 square foot home, they owe nothing for their house, and all of their bills are less than $100 a month. And they are now living life to the fullest, focusing their resources on what matters to them most. Read about them and their tiny house here: paducahlife.com/thinking-tiny-living-large

Your beautiful home shows that extensive planning time is NOT wasted time. So happy for you both!
  • This house is marvelous, first tiny house that might be practical in northern scandinavia. No windows all over, yet enough light inside and proper space to store clothes, even for winter. You really have done amazing job in interior planning, love it!

beautiful, what a wonderful life you have made for yourselves.
  • I love your tiny house. Very cozy and comfortable. Oh just love everything especially bed room and the bathroom. That dog is cute.
  • The time you spent in thought and design ideas was well worth it - this is one of the best designs I've seen on YouTube. You've got everything you need including a back door - so many house designs don't have a fire exit other than the front door. Love it!

I have never seen a tiny house toilet that is so beautiful !
  • Thanks for sharing a great video of an exceptionally well thought out & built tiny home. You make a wonderful couple. I'm glad that you are happy and wish you well.

I have been looking at tiny homes on Youtube for ages and your home is the most appealing and well planned I have seen so far. Your big kitchen is the star, IMHO . Well done. You could sell your plans no problem!

It looks really nice. I love the window in between the shelves in the kitchen and the bathroom shower. It's luxurious!

The back door mud/laundry room is really cool. The bathroom is huge.
  • Very thoughtful design (zones for all areas of life) and lovely finishes. Bravo! The only thing that would make this perfect is easier access to lofts.

I would love to see a floor plan with actual floor dimensions on how the space was divided. It would be nice also to know the finished cost of building this home and the exact time spent building. I think you mentioned three years but then said it was seven months to sketch plans. This home has many well thought out features and I really like that you used a back wall to build a closet! Living tiny does not equate to four or five changes of clothing! Great plans and well done! Enjoy your shower!
  • One of the best. Very well thought out. Very nice bathroom, laundry and back porch. It is important to have counter space around bathroom sink and a back door for fire escape. WAY thumbs up...and a pup.
