When you here "lake effect snow" in a HOUSTON TEXAS weather forecast you know it is about to hit the fan.

Watching from California, good luck Houstonians. I see palm tree casualties

Last winter sucked. I remember the snow storm of 1973. The freeze of 1989. But the 2021 Valentine freeze was deadly dangerous. Because there was no electricity. Fortunately my hurricane prep setup includes a generator and several 5 gallon jerry cans of gasoline that I still had full. The house stayed above 60 degrees inside. Plus I was able to alternate extension cords to my freezers and refrigerator. Including the wifi which kept boredom at bay.

Most Houston drivers don't know how to drive in dry weather, how much more in icy roads

I'm ancient and can say that you are the very BEST weatherman I've ever seen!!!(NY,FLA)
  • Friday was 27°, 8° above the forecast, and Saturday was 32°, 18° below the forecast. Guess all of this historic cold made the models go crazy.

100 year storm...every time. This was just 20 years too late. 1894 was much larger. 2 feet in downtown Houston, Galveston Bay froze over, for 2 weeks. Cows froze standing up...all the crops were wiped out.

Are the forest creatures in danger with this abnormal severe cold?
  • I'm not one to reach out to my community in this manner normally but, starting at 3pm Sunday, through all day Monday and into Tuesday afternoon, DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE - ANYWHERE - every street will be iced over and you will have absolutely no control over your vehicle. Stay home, stay safe.

I’m very concerned the AccuWeather is showing it to be quite a bit warmer than what these forecasts are showing.
