The look of pure glee on Sean's face at the beginning of the episode. He knew he was about to have some fun. RIP to the funny man, and well done to the laughing seal for managing to come out of that situation with an intact career.
  • That episode was so good, and possibly a career saver. Taking it straight on the chin rather than making excuses was definitely the right approach....
  • @odeode4338
I wholeheartedly believe Sean saved your career that day. His jokes were the harshest but delivered with love for you. What a great friend.

It's funny that Louie was right, all the politicians who were criticising Jimmy were also secretly evading tax.

Producer: We need someone to go straight for Jimmy's throat in order to save him. Sean Lock: Hold my beer.

I couldn't wait for this episode. The panel didn't disappoint. And Jimmy was redeemed.

This is a damage control master class. Fully admitted it and bent over and took the heat at full vlast and laughed about it. People barely remember anymore 😂
  • @moretea512
I absolutely love that Jimmy can laugh at himself.
  • Full respect Jimmy. YES Jimmy did what he did but he HAS admitted it. He has apologised. Unlike the countless politicians. Still love ya Jimmy.

I love that its been YEARS and he still gets roasted for it every other second. And is still taking it on the chin. He will never live it down and he seems to have embraced that fact.
  • @ssurridg
Jimmy admitted he was wrong, faced the consequences, and "took it like a man." Because of that, not only did people forgive him but he earned a great deal of respect too.

In Jimmy’s defense, to Jon’s point about Cameron having to fire nurses because there isn’t enough money, etc…there isn’t enough money because Cameron and his forerunners wrote opaque, meandering tax laws to avoid paying tax. Jimmy just tried to use those laws. He didn’t write them.

Jimmy takes it on the chin like a real man. I respect the way he owned his tax evasion.

I loved that episode. Jimmy's face says it all, he was terrified, but that episode saved his career. Must have taken some massive cajones to do that.
  • you can always count on Sean to be the funniest and sharpest in any of these
  • The line “there should be no sympathy for me at all” and it sounding genuine and real is why people forgave him
  • @TheDiscoWarrior
WOW. Mad respect for anyone who can take a beating like that in public and laugh about it. Thanks for the chuckles, but thanks even more for showing how to take adversity on the chin and move forward.

This period in Jimmy's life must've been tough and very taxing on him.
  • @wightangel
Louis was awesome. To do that without warming up was astounding. As for what he said about the government was so true.

I heard Jimmy say in an interview that before this 8oo10c aired the show runner talked to him and told him to just sit there and take it. No justifications or defenses or anything. Perfect advice.
