Cuban-Style Black Beans

12 oz pack of dry black beans
2-3 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion
1 green bell pepper
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp white distilled vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cumin
