Lots of our subscribers and Patreon members have had issues with nose up drives on their backhand. Today I'm going to give you my take on what I see the pros doing to get the nose angle down on their backhand drives.

The prerequisite to getting the nose down is having the box drill down:    • Box Drill for the Power Pocket

So I'm a beginning player (61 never too old to start). It's so nice having youtube to teach me so much. I'm struggling with nose down. "Pour the coffee", but with everything I'm still thinking about during my throw, that always went out the window and bloop nose up. So I watched this video (twice) and went out today to try it. It made the biggest difference in my throws that I've seen in a couple months. Not worrying about my wrist, but just supinating at the end of my throw was so easy and the flights were some of my best and longest. Really thanks Josh.
  • I've been playing disc golf for a few years now, and since I started watching your videos I've had more improvement to my game than ever before, including getting my first sanctioned win. Keep up the good content 🔥

I saw gannon talking on youtube about the supinating wrist... i tried it straight away and bang!!! Its ridiculously good!! I kinda explain to other disc golfers that asked me about it, that its kinda like an automatic reaction... cant wait for tomorrow afternoon.
  • This is becoming a staple channel for me. Great job guys.
  • You always upload what im trying to figure out right on time.. love these videos, you guys are worth so much more subscribers!!! Keep it up and we all appreciate what you do!!
  • Incredible and insightful content, as always! Thank y’all for all of the amazing instruction! I try to watch me some Overthrow as often as I can. This video was especially helpful for me, as I struggle with nose angle, and find supination to be a much more natural approach versus keeping tension in the wrist throughout the shot. Thank you again!
  • Love your channel. I have learned so much. Your breakdown of each element of a particular throw is so helpful. Thank you. I look forward to more!
  • Love your content! I think this is literally the first time I’ve considered looking into patreon. After recently seeing myself throw I’m about to completely relearn and try to rebuild my form. Your stuff just always makes sense.

Fascinating. Such digestible content every time. Thanks man

I've gotten tons of helpful advice at the course but options like this is way better. No one is the same and I've had to ask my own thing too. Thanks.
  • There may be a fly in my soup. I've recently begun simplifying my form as much as possible to reduce the number of moving parts and variables. So holding the angle from start to finish seems like a solid strategy. Combined with a new 3 finger power grip which naturally dips the leading edge into my desired angle (down), it's been working consistently well. Thanks for the great content.

I've been waiting for this one - Thank you! Great instruction, as always!
  • This video was super helpful. I've been struggling with my release angles and thought that 12 o'clock was the correct angle of release, but this video helped me understand how that is wrong. I've also been struggling with trying to keep my wrist flexed (as in the pouring coffee method) while also keeping my arm loose enough to create the "whip" that you hear so much of in the DG community. I think this video does an excellent job addressing how those two seemingly contradictory concepts of a flexed wrist (pouring coffee) and loose arm (whip) can both co-exist in form. But after watching this video, I am definitely doing to give the soup method a try as I think it could do a better job encouraging a relaxed and smooth release in my own form. Either way, thank you for the great content! We're very lucky to have you and your awesome cameraman (I really do appreciate when they ask questions mid-video because they're often the same ones I have) in the DG community. Cheers
  • Y'all keep validating my hairbrain theories. Btw, after almost two years of playing DG and two weeks of your tutorials, I managed three PR's in two days. I PRed the most difficult course in SATX, Live Oak Hillside...2up. Keep the content coming!
  • Good info on the supenation stuff! I always was thrown off seeing how much wrist flex guys like Ricky and Simon have but you did a great job explaining how they make it work
  • I've watched this video countless times and just now figured out what you meant with the clock on the disc... I've been throwing into the net for a few sets and realized that I'm getting much more snap and my nose angle is better. I'll let you know how much distance I get at the course and field work! Thanks so much OT

this is very good stuff. so many analogs to the 'ball golf' move / pursuit of piercing trajectories.
