Minecraft is a game with many different versions, and Minecraft Legacy Console Edition is one of my favorites. The game sadly had a downfall however, so I wanted to explain why that happened, and what happened after that. Wanted to make a video similar to the commentary style of RT60, Leon Talks a Lot, Ramsker, and Toonarii. If yall enjoyed the video feel free to drop a like and sub, thanks!

I miss destroying whatever I built without the cost of having to rebuild, thanks to exit without saving

Playing splitscreen Minecraft with your friends is something that can never be topped. Legacy console was the goat

Going from GTA IV, BO2 to Minecraft was magical. I miss 360 gaming.

Console edition got cancelled not because Microsoft didn't want people getting confused between the two versions on consoles, but because they knew if players had a choice, nobody would pick the microtransaction infested, poorly programmed Bedrock or "Better Together" edition.

I remember playing Pocket Edition with some guy. Then one time he came over and played PS4 edition with me all day. I haven’t seen him in like, 8 years now…

People don’t wanna admit it but Minecraft fell of because they update it once a year 😭 and this vid brought back so many memories 🥲

The legacy edition of this game nowadays is like a time capsule of the good old days. I wish more people still played it.

I miss the mini games so much, they were so well done and you could matchmake with your friends super easily

Man seeing the og graphics and tutorial world is so damn nostalgic 360 was 1600 Microsoft points first game I ever got

I’d be more willing to play bedrock edition if they’d make it feel more like the java edition/legacy console edition. The lighting system is just off, the way mobs move and act just feel… wrong, there’s so many weird bugs that they still haven’t fixed after several years… and for the love of god, can we talk about how great the ui sounds were for legacy console edition? That’s a feature I’d want to see even in java edition. This video brought back so many good memories, and man I’d just love to relive them 100 times over.

The beautiful thing about Console Edition was. That it brought back those simple Alpha/Beta feelings of Java Edition.

Something not mentioned as much as it should've been was that there were roughly 10+ free texture packs with free maps which came with it. 10+ skin packs with 5 or more free textures in each.

As an ex-console edition (ps4) player, I can say that it wasn't "months" but at least like 3 YEARS to get the shield. Yes. Shields were added with 1.14. Elytras were added a bit earlier sure but that took at least a year after the java release too And yes on ps4 our last update was 1.14, the universal bedrock edition came with 1.15 Edir: oh yeah it just came to my mind, 1.10 came earlier than 1.9 to minecraft. We had FRICKING POLAR BEARS EARLIER THAN THE END CITIES DUDE

As a Minecraft Console Edition player, I agree that this version was goated and still is. And yes, there is a small community there and it's probably not leaving anytime soon. I'm apart of it. Also, the community there calls the edition "Legacy Edition".

Really good Vid bro! I really miss the the old Minecraft console edition. I remember when it would rain outside and I'd be inside loading into new new world with friends. I think it was a combination of the simple music, sfx, and softer pastel color palate/textures that really made it special. Since it was before the aquatic, nether and cave update, it really focused the "Craft" part of Minecraft and being creative with what you had, especially when building. Now Minecraft seems to heavily lean on the "Mine" aspect with the updates. I just really missed the simplicity of the legacy version and maybe it'll comeback revamped one day! Again great vid man, 10/10 ❤

The pink screen glitch actually got fixed this year or last year in one of the minecraft snapshots. I forgot which one it was, but I remember it did happen.
  • @whatdayit
this version was so good but it sucks that the bedrock edition has so many mechanics that just dont work the same as java unlike the legacy console editions they functioned exactly like java mechanics wise

Very amazing video, here are a few additions: 1. You can't forget about the Wii U edition of Minecraft released in December 2015. Alltough it was late, it's were me and many others started to play the console edition of the game. 2. Voicechat. I feel like that was simply the most amazing feature in the Console Edition and was perfect for an 8 player game. Back then nobody really used discord or skype as most people only had their console, so being able to talk to your friends ingame was just different.
