Good morning, Mark and fellow weather watchers. Yesterday at the Orchard Cottage Weather Center, we had a high of 104°. Had a few sprinkles, humidity was down to 24%. Overnight, the cloud cover kept temperatures in the mid to low 70's. This morning, we have cloudy skys. Bill from Oakdale

I live near the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's a bit humid and cloudy, nothing that looks like rain, but I'm hearing thunder in the distance. Last time that happened, those mountains were on fire for weeks, so hoping history doesn't repeat!

Yup we got some decent thunderstorms over the Eastern Sierra and down into Bishop yesterday the rain was hit and miss.

With The heat we had it would be nice to have some rain

We had an unscheduled thunderstorm storm here in the McCulloch Mountains, Henderson. Wild lightening, high winds with dust devils, heavy rain lasted for about half hour. This was our first monsoon storm of the year. This morning started with a clear sky & oppressive heat. By 11 AM those who knew a few things noticed & started prepping. Following the weather on the eastern slope of the Spring Mountain Range is challenging & exciting. The physics of weather here is probably a real-pain-in-the-* for every weather person in the valley. The only weather alerts we get are after the fact. All the down slope Las Vegans got out of this energy release was a dust storm.
