Today’s episode is presented by Old Spice.

Today is a BIG BIG Pivot and a year in the making...we took the trip to sit with none other than Dwayne The Rock Johnson for a conversation where we just all let our guards down, had some laughs, talked life lessons and shared our experiences and what matters most in our lives.

Taking a trip down memory lane to what it was like growing up as an only child and having the dreams to play in the NFL one day, The Rock shares with Ryan how he never imagined being where he is today and frankly never wanted this life either, he just had other goals that led him to where he is now. Fitness and being in the gym is an obvious part of The Rock's life, but the motivation is far beyond the physical aspects it provides as he opens up that its symbolic to his relationship with his dad and their time they had when it was just the two of them.

After heartache and bouts of depression in his younger years and missing out on playing professional football, The Rock shares how getting in the family business of Wrestling saved his life, and years later realized how it saved four generations of the Johnson family. Looking back, The Rock says not making the NFL was the best thing to happen to him and led him on a journey that no one could ever script. Dealing with divorce, loss, heartache, tough times never fell short on him and he still lives with a survival mentality everyday never taking for granted his success and looking to his daughters as his source of pride and happiness.

The Rock shares how his upbringing and determination to never be broke and always have more than $7 Bucks has fueled his success over the years. Never straying far away from his first love of football, The Rock talks about how ownership of the XFL gave him the opportunity to create opportunities for young men who were just like him shares his first conversation with Roger Goodell and how the league took off in it's first season! From a personal stance, Fred takes the opportunity to express his gratitude to The Rock for his commitment to helping others and for saving his son's football dreams.

As someone who is a Jack of All Trades, Channing asks The Rock what does he believe he’s the best at? Let's just say the answer has Channing doing his own dance in his seat!!

Just found out I have cancer. Watched this show as a huge fan for over a year now when I first moved to Texas. These men give me strength through this. Lfg, gives me so much motivation hearing them speak!

Whatever you think of The Rock, I’ve always loved how he never, EVER turned his back on wrestling. He truly has zero shame of where he came from and what got him here. He’s definitely not the best movie star in the world because he makes good movies, but rather because wrestling taught him how to truly connect with an audience. And most importantly, to appreciate them. Through all his trials and tribulations, constant pitches and product placement and yes, his sometimes less than stellar movies, he’s still just a good guy deep down inside. He cares about people and he wants to leave this world a better place. I am forever “one of the millions….”

  • @warnerpaul7633
The Rock being inclusive by acknowledging Ryan,Channing & Fred's football career shows you how humble and respectful he is towards different people.
  • Man, the rock is so polite, funny, memorable, grateful and full of positivity despite his trials and tribulations. This is the way to interview someone. Respectful, polite and comfortable. Thanks😄

Not only did The Pivot get The Rock, but we got a non-corporate answers, authentic The Rock. And that shows the power of The Pivot's magic. Shoutout to everyone working on making this podcast/show happen. Best one out!

Man I blew my right knee dislocated it, my MCL, PCL, tore my FCL, 3 months ago. I’m also a father of a beautiful almost 4 yr old baby girl and 2 year old baby boy. Went from being married to now divorced or almost. Got served Eviction papers just had a mediation with the VOA and my apartment complex. I’m a combat Veteran, so luckily I get a disability check from my time in sector. But when it rained this year it poured. And I had to dig deep and change my thinking my mentality and stop allowing fear to run my life. Nothing changes if nothing changes. And things like this show have been popping up and finding there way into my Life when needed the most. Just related to his story in so many ways. And it just goes to show you that celebrities were once civilians and he had 7$ and I had 9$ in quarters and I uh have that same chip on my shoulder. Had to do a complete and utter career change from a union carpenter to now starting a job in sales on Monday. Due to not sure exactly if surgery is going to be the next step and i have two kids counting on me. Their mother when she shows up is a great mom. Just selfish and having children you gotta be selfless. So I got some really good laughs needed and released some really good tears. So this is a lot and a sap story. I just wanna say thank you to RC, which I watch you and DC I’m huge UFC guy live and breath but also Channing and Fred for putting such a amazing and powerful show together. The fire this lit in me knowing eviction is around the corner is a reality and never again will it be, but it always will be! Thanks gentleman!

As an XFL employee, DJ and Dany have been awesome. Not only for football but for the opportunity of all staff working in the XFL. As a Graphic Designer there's not much opportunity out there and the XFL has allowed me to be compensated very well for my experience and work ethic. But also for DJ understanding the mental health side and allowing us to balance work & life. It's rejuvenated my career to keep getting better and help build the best XFL product possible.

This is a great get considering Dwayne never does podcasts and focuses on media interviews for movies. Hosts made him relax to the point they could ask him about his identity as a half Black v half Samoan. Loved listening to Rock 🙌🏽
  • @ibn1989
When The Rock said that his motivation was that he could not be broke, it spoke to me. It's like the universe talked to me directly. It's crazy.

This was incredible per usual🙌 His story of having 7 dollars remind me of mine at 2.37 cents man. I’m sure many in the comments can relate when we hit rock bottom and didn’t see a way up. Whoever can relate, I just wanna let y’all know how proud of y’all I am. For whoever is going through it RIGHT NOW, don’t fucking give up. You got this. One moment, one day at a time. Leessss geauuxxxxx❤🙌🙌🙏🙏
