  • Carl Lewis was one bad man on the track, absolutely natural talent with speed.
  • @AbsolutFent
Maybe it is nostalgia, but I never got more excited about track than in the 80's.

I don't want to hype this dude Bolt because he is fresh on the 100M seen...but what he did today was incredible and according to the press this is his 6th 100M race...wow! At 21 years old i'm excited to see what he is really capable of

calvin smith was a true champion sprinter. probably the last world class sprinter that wasn't doping.

Carl Lewis was the most beautiful runner with his arms and strides. Poetry in motion. Certainly put USA sprinting on a pedestal for a decade. He was also unreal as the anchor in the relays way before Usain Bolt came along.
  • Long jump 29ft&win 4 straight olympics in the long jump and run 9.86 personal best. The goat
  • @stevemann1299
Lewis was like a gazelle speeding down the track. But what makes him great is also being the LONG JUMP GOAT.. To be a great sprinter and the greatest long jumper of alltime is something.
  • @Pulsonar
Carl Lewis was perhaps the most graceful sprinter I’ve ever seen. His perfect high knee stride, his arm action, even his hands and fingers looked like he has karate chopping the air as he sprinted 😂 Bolt was simply an unbeatable genetic freak, but before him Carl Lewis had mastery of pure text book sprint perfection that Bolt never had.
  • @topfitnessssss
I dont give a flying shit that Carl was dropped up .. there were still a tremendous amount of training behind his record and let's face it: he was shaped up like a fucking Eagle !!!!! LEWIS #1 FOREVER !!!!!!
  • @Wrxrtd
Carl Lewis was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 84...the same year as they got Jordan, but he chose to stay with track and field. I only just found that out. Remarkable athlete.

The wind was +5.2 m/s well over the legal limit. Florence Griffith Joyner set the 100m world record at this event but the wind reading was 0 m/s. Watching her race you can see the wind blowing her hair around before the start of the race. The record still stands today.

Exciting still today! And the lady Host gave some much excitement!
  • @Hendo1703
    An absolute genius…..pure professional
  • @spacefieldtime
I ran on that track when I went to IUPUI and it seemed slow and soft..Carl Lewis was extremely fast.....
  • @thesilentstorms-
Woah I'm shocked to see all this hate, I thought Lewis was praised by everyone who saw him and was considered one of the biggest sport heroes ever.
  • @lexsoft3969
His acceleration in the last 30-40m was always impressive.
