JELLY RECIPE ►
40 ounces (1134 g) cool water 5 cups
14 ounces (397 g) sugar 4 cups
4 ounces (113 g) gelatin 3/4 cup - I use custom collagen brand but KNOX is ok too
4 teaspoons blue Jell-O or a tiny drop liquid blue food coloring
3 teaspoons strawberry extract or any flavor you want!
2 teaspoons citric acid

    Fun tip: if you're struggling to ice your cake without getting LOADS of crumbs in the icing, you can crumb coat it by melting a little ganache to seal in the crumbs. Let the melted ganache coat set and then put the rest of the ganache on. That was definitely learnt from experience :) This tutorial was so helpful to make the jelly taste nice, thank you!!!

    Omg! What a fantastic video tutorial! I had never heard of this. I made my first attempt at this cake and I made a few mistakes including I lost about half of my jello 😢 but it was fun to do. I'll keep watching and get it right next time. Thanks for helping to enhance my baking skills..👍

  • I love this so much, really really want to make one of these! Well done on making it taste nice and be super clear. I was worried that it was a trade off between being clear but soft, or sturdy but cloudy. Need to get me a little turtle mould so I can have one in the water 😛
