a friend of mine acquired a few freebie items from a property cleanup about 2 weeks ago. I also acquired a few items as well. But we both have been wanting to keep the small chainsaw but my friend doesn't know how to fix it. I'm that guy who can make anything run. But I did tell my friend that if he still needs to take the saw for camping, he's always welcome to use it. I just need it more than he does. I live off grid and I use wood heat year round etc. Right now I'm using lithium ion cordless saws for all my wood cutting and in severe winter temperatures, the batteries don't keep up with my needs. I also messaged an offer on a marketplace ad about another poulan chainsaw for sale and the seller hasn't responded yet. I know how to port 2 strokes as well as modify the muffler a little bit to gain extra power from it.

Husqvarna 👍Where I live most people like sthil ,I've used many sthil equipment and I'm not impressed 😐 I also like to use what I like to work on husqvarna.

I’ve got several brands and I’m like you, the husky’s are my goto.

Watched this video again. That thing sings right along eh! So did you just open up the ports a little or did you put the degree wheel on it and if so what numbers did come up with stock/ported? Just ported my first saw fun stuff! Had a few little junker Plastic Mac’s so tried one of them.
  • I have a Wildthing, carb/Muffler mod. 14" bar, good chain. I love it for my small stuff, limbs, it much lighter than my Husky 460. My old back likes it too. I love both of them, my main saws. I have a 64 Blue Homelite, 1st saw I used, I was 11, and born in 64. Same saw. I have a 74 Poulan 50cc, Poulan Pro 4418, A 2450, an XXV micro, Homelite small like the micro. Not all the old saws run yet. But they will this summer when firewood sawing slows.
  • Me personally think 60cc is the not to big but big enough for all
  • How did you go about getting tinman to port your saw I been tryin to get ahold of him through YouTube with no success I have a homelite xl that flawless only been ran 4 times and I need him to port it and get it running good
  • @Indeewoods
Ain’t no fool’n with that Poulan! She cuts good. Who did the porting? You? And what size/type chain?
  • I dont like a bar over 18" on my husky 450,and i would run 16" on that wild thing.i save the 20" for more powerful saws like my 51 and my 60 cc stuff
  • Not gonna hate or anything man but yours is a 40cc ported or not you still have a stock Poulan/Husqvarna motor while I have a built hks cylinder and piston ported 45cc engine pulls a 24inch bar no problem love the wild things I have over 200 in just parts
  • husqvarna and poulan same saw lol look at any of the new poulan saws have the h all over the parts
  • @happycamper6352
No way that's a true Poulan. While I do believe that porting a Poulan could make that much power, a real Poulan would have thrown the chain at least twice* with that much run time! Fake I tell you, fake! *Of course If you stopped to tighten the chain at least twice during the cut, it MIGHT stay on! Joking of course, but many years ago when I tried Poulan saws that belonged to other people, no matter how tight I made everything following proper procedures (lift bar when tightening plenty tight, then tighten the dust cover nuts plenty tight), the chain would always loosen, often to the point of derailing. It seems everyone I know that has Poulan experience always says this to me and has the same problem it seems. Great job on the porting though, looks pretty strong.
