In this video, I show the range of metal detectors I use every year. They include Fisher, Garrett, Minelab and Deus and Teknetics detectors. I provide a brief explanation as to why I use so many different metal detectors and the metal detecting conditions that guide me in choosing.

Hey Beau.....i finally retired after 41 years...i watched a lot of your videos. My wife bought me a AT Pro for retirement. Still have to get a shovel from lowes...loved your shovel video. Now I need to find places to dig.đź‘Ť
  • I'm still using the machine I could afford at the time. Whites DFX. I know, I know...all the pros tell me to upgrade and I will when I can afford to. To me, though, this machine is priceless. It gave me and my daughter the love of detecting. She's 7 now and i've had this thing 10 years longer than I've had her. And it still finds things. Thanks for your great entertaining videos.

Thanks Aqua Ch. You've answered a lot for me in that short vid. đź‘Ť

Thank you for taking time to explain detectors! Enjoying your channel!
  • Thank you for making this video, I had been wounding this for a long time about what one would be best for diving. Please keep up the videos.
  • Just ordered a Garrett AT Max bundle with your link - thank you for all the helpful videos!

Awesome video as always man! Do you have any recommendations for a good quality budget detector for starters?
  • Well Ching are you a teacher by trade? Your method of explaining is just what the metal detecting makers could ever hope for.Thats a compliment.I use a whites coin pro but I think I might be getting the A/T Max I have enjoyed your river and creek expeditions. I hope you. Stay safe while doing your searching. Of the real things I had on my mind is now blank take care

Beau I have Garrett's Ace series, I have used Whites, I use T2 SE now. I like them all. it boils down to where you walk. I have done well over the last 30 yrs hunting relics not as good as you but maybe someday I'll catch up. Great job love the videos

I have used my CZ as my go to beach machine for awhile now and I love it. I don’t dive but I like that it is quite rugged. I now have an AT Max which seems to go deep but I haven’t tried it on the beach yet. Great videos. I love this channel. Keep up the good work and happy hunting!

You probably know this, but just in case... the Deus coil is waterproof, but doesn't work underwater because the radiowaves can't travel through water. You have to buy a special 'wire' to un-wireless it.

Glad I found this clip. Always wanted to buy a metal detector but never wanted to get a cheap one and I don't really know which ones are good and which ones are crap. I am a huge history buff and this is a hobby I'd love to do just never really knew where to start, so thanks for the insight on these machines.

You've inspired me to go out and explore the world around me and buy a metal detector. I've watched your videos many time and they are are amazing content. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!
  • Yeah , an AT Pro/Gold comparison is a must . I was looking to get one for water hunting . But don't know enough to make my decision . I had a Minicab CTX 3030 , but thought it was over rated , and too much $$$$ overkill for what little I was getting . I like Fisher detectors too , but I will not be diving (Just wading to 5 feet) , so the AT series looks like a better option for the $$$
  • I have a serious amount of titanium in my back. Rods from the s's to the t's on both sides. The exrays look like a long step ladder. How will this work with a metal detector?
  • @MG-zl3gl
A great video! Nuts and bolts lessons are always appreciated. Well done! Thank you Sir.
  • @dgc940
I know what machine I like best and use but my only question to you is in a day to day land hunt lets say coins and jewelry would it be fair for you to say the XP Deus kicks the AT pro and golds butt on depth sensitivity and discrimination?
