Why Sunnis (and Shias) Love Ja’far As Sadiq | Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi

It is so refreshing to see a Sunni telling and explaining the greatness of Imam Jaffar as. Masha ALLAH.

SubhanAllah. We need more leaders like you who transcend the sects and bring people together under the unity of Tawheed - bringing us closer to the Ahlul Bayt, who surely are jewels in the crown of Islam, for all Muslims, regardless of their respective schools of thought. Jazak Allah Khayr 💪

We are from Ahle Sunnah and we love all ahlul bayt. They are our beloved figures.

A couple of points that the Sheikh did not elaborate on. 1) Abu Hanifa realizing the abundant knowledge of Jaffer Sadiq, became his student. Hence lots os similarities between the Jafferi and Hanafi madhhabs 2) A lot was said about the blood lineage of Jaffer Sadiq to AbuBaker, via Muhammad ibn AbuBakr, what was missing was that Muhammad ibn AbuBakr was brought up from birth by Ali bin AbuTalib to whom he was eternally devoted. As we see in the case of Yazid, he had the blood lineage of the Quraish and so did the Prophet but they were poles apart in ethics. A similar comparison can also be be made between the Abbasides- a cruel group of Muslim rulers and the Prophet as both had the same blood lineage from Hashim. So in short, blood lineage does not confer someone legitimacy.

MashAllah, excellent lecture. The fact that all Muslims mention Ahlul Bayt in their salah, tashahud, and the prayer is not valid without sending blessings on the progeny of the Prophet, shows that the Ahlul Bayt are just on a very different level from everyone else.

The problem with listening yasir qadhi is that you don't want to listen to anybody else.there is only one yasi.r qadhi .what a blessed soul he is

Very good effort, that is how we should approach Islamic history, with a disclaimer that things were not black and white as they are made to appear today.

Will you even be a Sunni if you do not like Ja'far As Sadiq rahimullah. May Allah give us all his imaan, taqwa and knowledge.

Mashallah tabarakallah Sheikh , i absolutely love these historical episodes which you eloquently narrate I have seen you are such a humble historian , you never ever say this is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH rather you study primary historical sources and convey it to masses , you always say the other version of interpretation of historical facts Allah on the day of Judgement will show us the full picture of all history You are a raw , pragmatic historian and may Allah increase you

Imam Jaffar-as-Sadiq (as) is never mentioned in daily Sunni discourse. You can’t love someone who is completely unknown to the masses.
