after a storm I noticed water in the rear pasanger seat and after looking around the car I found the leak, the cars have drains for water but when those drains are clogged or damage the water is redirect and can go anywhere. is important to detect where is the problem.

I have a GLK350 2010 and I have the exact same problem, water leaking from the roof, exactly from the passenger side. Dealership wont do nothing about it beside charge me a lot of money, I fixed it myself thanks to your video. I bet a lot of mercedes owners out there have the same issue and they have not talked about it or they just dont know what to do. This issue should be considered as a recall, and dealerships should fix it for free.

You are a life saver. Had the same issue and wasn’t looking forward to $$$$ repair.

Water got in my car too after a rain storm. C300 2013. Unfortunately the water caused electrical damage and now it may be a total loss. It’s unfortunate how common this is and true of what one commenter said, Mercedes should have recalled. It’s sad, I loved my car. It’s white like the one in your video, with beige leather interior. Very informative video. Thanks!

You need to remove each wheel and the plastic wheel covers to then clean out the drains. The drain looks like a + sign.. why they made it so small is beyond me. Each corner should have one. Their is another video that shows this process I described above. Forcing it this way may cause other issues but I am not a mercedes tech.. I would rather play it safe. Also, in time, they will clog again so I just plan to open the rest of them up.

You should never put pressure on those roof drains. You can blow the drain hoses off of the nipples under the window frame. Then all of the water will drain into the headliner and you'll have to pull the liner down to replace the hoses. The trick is you have to remove the spider traps on the bottom end of the drain hoses. They trap debris and cause the water to back all the way up to the roof window. They should be in the A piller near the bottom. Just take the rubber or plastic trap off the end and they should drain.

I've got this exact scenario going on in my 2010 W212 E63 AMG and it's been driving crazy ! - That panoramic sunroof is such a bad design with gaps everywhere !!... What were the guys at Mercedes thinking when they designed these cars ??, As much as I love the sunroof, If this carries on anymore, and I can't unblock the drains, then the black silicone sealant is coming out and I am sealing the whole damn roof in all the gaps ! - So far I've lost my ESP and my transmission is super jurkey at low throttle more than normal ! BTW - Thanks for the great video man ! 👍👍👍
  • I have a w204, c280, 2008 and ocasionally I find some humidity and little water in the TRUNK ! I've tried everything to find out why that water is there with no results, although its not really much but I don't like it. Sometimes there's humidity in the left side cover of the trunk, but nowhere else... i've poured water from every part of the roof and the trunk lid but nothing happens. In México city it's rainy season and it rains pretty hard, so I'm concerned about finding what's wrong. There's no water or humidity anywhere else in the car... ANY SUGGESTIONS from you guys ? Greetings from Mexico city (july 8th,2023).
  • Hi I have a pool of water in the back seat of the passenger's side. It's the first time I see it and its only in the back seat. I checked the Sunroof seals and they are ok also declogged the water pipe in the front as you showed and it looks ok. Can you please show how you cleaned the drain in the bottom to see if this could be the issue? Thank you very much!

Could this be the cause of dampness and mold growing on passenger side carpet. I have a 2016 Mercedes glc.
  • Battery power is dead and I'm un able get ignition to crank or there's no power reaching the main computer module😢😊

Same just happened with my 2013 C250. Water in passenger side both in front and back. Electrical issues present already. First time it rained and a little got in. Second time and a ton got in speakers stopped working, over head controls and infotainment screen stopped working. Mercedes is quoting 14k for parts and labor. They told me it may cause more electrical issues even if we fix it.

Have the same problem right now, with that said, the water fucked up my gasoline gadge which I can't see whether I have gas un my car or not also I Burned one of my daylight bulbs. My question is looking at this video, was it difficult to remove the carpets completely cause I see that I will have to do the same to get the water that's left in. Would've want to see how did you do that.
  • @FringeLunacy
So am I... I have C300... Same problem.. This is a big problem with design of c300.. The water go directly to electronic parts and all electrical services stopped.
  • @dubimuzme
Chasing this problem on my c350 coupe. Pano roof design is completely different. No drain tubes in the front. It’s driving me nuts and the internet is coming up with nothing..
  • Thanks for your video and advice. BUT I STRONGLY RECOMEND NOT TO REMOVE THE DRAIN PLUGS or drill a small hole on them, the result will be worse...believe me😢
