In this video I talk about the day-to-day activities of a junior or graduate auditor, and generally what kind of work you would do in your first 1-3 years on the job. There's a mixed bag of advice and description of work in this video, and would be particularly useful if you're curious about the job having already got a role or want some background information for an interview - you could base a lot of questions or conversation in the interview about your potential role!

What auditors do: 1. Research an audit. 2. Test the transactions, programs, etc for the audit. 3. Create and update workpapers. 4. Draft a report 5. Management take the report, say your testing sucks and write what they want in the report. 6. Repeat.

U must be an amazing junior auditor coz i think i only grasped these insights towards the end of my third year in my audit career.

Thank you so much, in a world where they refuse to even educate on what you will be doing on the field I feel relieved that I at least know what I am working towards
  • @olivia_255
I can already tell you’re going to make a great senior!
  • @ousmanecaba4467
You’re such an auditor- you had a lead schedule and cross ref to the different part of your video 😂
  • It was a wonderful explanation of responsibilities of the junior auditor. Really appreciate it and learnt a lot from this video. Thankyou!
  • @SwahiliSpicE
So informative! Never heard someone talk about the day to day of audit with so much detail in YT video. Really useful for someone like me applying for positions at the mo.

I just accepted a full-time position for staff 1 auditor. Your insights are super helpful!! Thank you 🙏🏼
  • Just got out of public and couldn’t be more happy. Not worth staying long-term unless you can handle high stress well and actually like the subject matter of your job responsibilities. Nice video outlining what to expect though!
  • Love the in-depth description of day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, especially as I am a graduate who is looking to get into auditing, so these videos are super helpful for insight and interview prep! I just have two questions: Firstly, how do you ensure/know that you have all the details necessary from the client and that it agrees with what actually happened? (e.g. In case any errors occurred at their end) Secondly, when do you work individually and when do you collaborate with others or as a team?
  • You’re gorgeous 🥰 I’m an accounting major, just applied for grad school!
  • @counterleo
I'm deep in ACCA Audit and Assurance right now and, unlike most students, I love it 😂Unlike tax which changes all the time and is super tied to one single country so you can't move around the world, yeah, screw tax. I can't wait to get my first auditing role, although speaking with the client does sound nerve wracking especially orally. Thanks for the insights. I didn't think A/R was considered a low-risk area, as it can sometimes require significant judgement (thinking of allowances for bad debts). Crap, now I have substantive procedures popping into my mind (inspect post year-end bank statements for evidence of customer payments...) lol I'm actually an audit nerd
  • @denisseh3946
I think asking questions to the client must have been one of the most nerve-wracking thing when I intenterened at a mid sized firm. It was very hard especially when the senior would mention they didn't want to be interrupted. So it was hard to ask questions!
  • Thank you, the in depth info helps to cool the anxiety of not knowing the job, especially if you've never worked. You've beautiful eyebrows by the way, natural.
  • @carterok1554
if I had youtube content like this 2003-2010 god knows how far id be by now deep sigh
  • @itzjae
How are you a junior? Never did i have a junior who understood an audit as well as you in my time at big 4. Great video for new big4 joiners!
