Thank you, you just saved me a service call. I bought a house with a generator and while checking the battery and cleaning the unit last week, must have pulled the wiring harness for the stepper motor loose. While it worked for a minute when I tested it manually after cleaning, it gave an 1100 Overcrank error on its next weekly exercise. Sure enough, the stepper motor connector was only half-way in. (I assume it vibrated loose during my test. It's not a tight fit.) This was not mentioned in any other video as a possible cause of the Overcrank error. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Should be zip tied down. Error on the manufacturer part. Love my Kohler!

as a 25 year Generac tech, (recently retired) I can tell you that 90% of the time that wire gets a yank when the battery is installed. The obvious fix is a zip-tie... and it will be fine forever. BTW, sometimes the code is over-crank (fail to start) and other times the code is under-speed / under-volt. It just depends on whether it starts. Either way, reset that connector and give it a try.
