  • As a japanese-american dude i completely think that this movie is accurate and a great portrayal of who we are. I wrap my friends' mom and brother in seaweed all the time and we all can fight karate.

If you’re going to do iCarly specials you gotta review the one where the iCarly cast meets the Victorious cast it’s pretty much an iconic special in all of Nickelodeon
  • @tayyfvckk
The only reason I remember this episode is I had an irrational fear of being trapped in seaweed as a child because it happened to Spencer and Freddy’s mom
  • My one takeaway from this episode is Sam should've been way more happy to go to Canada considering the Fat Cakes situation
  • “I’m starting to think this show might not be totally realistic” Bro Spencer is literally a fire magician that manages to combust anything he comes in contact with, this show is far from realistic.
  • As someone who’s been living abroad for about 6 years now, it is very weird and unsettling sometimes. I went home for the first time last year and I could barely recognize things. I felt like a foreigner in my hometown, and now I’m like “did I really go home or was it a dream?” It’s definitely a weird feeling.
  • 10:35 On top of the fact that all these Japanese people speak perfect English, a hunch and a quick Google search confirmed that Yuki is played by Harry Shum Jr, aka Mike Chang from Glee (one of my favorite Glee characters). He was born in Costa Rica, but his parents were Chinese immigrants. His first language is Spanish, though he hasn’t spoken it fluently since he was 6, then he learned Cantonese (a Chinese dialect for those who don’t know) and English.

I love how i immediately recognized that they used LAs chinatown as them driving through tokyo. LA city hall in the distance really was the cherry on top.
  • Honestly ever since I learned about Dan Shncantspellthat and more recently how Jeanette was treated on the show and the trauma she has from it I view this show very differently. makes me sad because there's a lot of nostalgia behind it but now at this ripe old age of 26 I can't look past it
  • I had seriously forgotten about this movie entierly, it's funny how watching this video made me remember a bunch of things from around that time. In regards to Alex's last question it does happen, whenever I found like an old notebook or see a picture of me and my highschool friends I look back and think "Wow I used to do so many weird stuff" or "I can't believe this thing was so popular back then", it does bring the feeling of some sort of evolution, I guess that's part of growing up.

dude, I swear. Harry Shum Jr (Yuuki) has been a crucial part of the entertainment in my life. First iCarly, then Glee, now Everything Everywhere All at Once. This guy is honestly amazing
  • The talk about Japan at the end completely got me, I lived there for almost 2 years, and now it feels like a dream, a wonderful dream that I'll never get to live again, since I was there as a student. And I had compromises that I would only agree to in Japan... like sharing a room. Right now I can't stand even sharing a house

The dance animation goes so hard on this video, like Alex was dancing ALL AROUND the screen. Great animating, as always
  • Can’t blame the actors for taking gigs like this when it was all they were offered in Hollywood… Glad to see that Harry Shum Jr. and Ally Maki have landed more meaningful roles since
  • @butexab
im 22 and i think back to my freshman year of college dorms and wonder how the hell i lived like that 😂 walking all the way to the other side of the building just to go to the bathroom at 3am, standing outside liquor stores and begging people to buy a bottle for me, riding public transit literally everywhere. its like a completely different person 😂
  • @skadigramza1730
I live in Okinawa , Japan due to my parents work.. After being here for 2 years I've seen a lot of the military wife's here speak to the locals like how Freddie's mom spoke to them
  • I can't help but feel that Dan Schnieder has a personal problem with Canada, because almost every show has a hit at Canada
  • @Ivory81
I remember watching this when I was younger and being terrified of being kidnapped by 2 random Japanese content creators. Looking back on it, it was really stupid, but I was convinced this was 100% realistic
  • @mystic-legend67
I’ve been subscribed for forever, how did I miss you lived in Japan? Insanely cool, I’m jealous. Dream destination
  • @MarJov
Awesome video as always, GJ ALEX!
