  • Nice jam in Em using 4th and 5th position. Like how you played 12,10 on high e (5th position of caged theory) 12,10,8 on the b string (5th position sliding into the 4th) and the the 7,9 on the g string (4th position) while pedaling the open E. Sometime you chose to land on 5th adding a little tension then going back to the root for release. Since the 5th is a chord tone a a safe place to land I normally go for something like the 6th or being a blues guy I’ll add the major 3rd a lot or sometimes a semi tone down from the root for the tension then back to the minor 3rd or the root for the release. I like using arpeggiated chords a lot and the use or triads for a more melodic touch. Or if you wanted to keep it blues like I do you can you use double stops playing 2 string at once the root and the 3rd of a chord. I normally chicken pick my double stops chicken picking the g string with my pick and middle finger and pedal the 3rd with ring finger. Oh hey, would you like learn what else I know about scales and music theory??? See you in your next video comment section!
