You did nothing wrong, I’d have been actively chasing strangers with a hatchet if I thought someone was going to hurt my cats. That being said the owner was sketchy as fuck, she fucking knows something. That’s not a coincidence I’d leave uninvestigated.

Those owners are definitely running a drug operation. The way the russian guy called them "low level" and amateurish, their sketchy behavior, the fact they had your cat, and them denying everything that happened. Its too much to just be a coincidence. If you can, i suggest you report all of this to airbnb so no one else has to deal with this.

My theory: The owners were obviously working with the drug dealer gang since they weren't very worried after being told they live under their house and they would have seen them around the house. Their drug dealer friends break in and steal stuff. One of the owners associates either finds Sylum outside or the gang stole the cat and gave it to them. The owners decide to keep him for some reason? The owners and their associates then do everything they can to intimidate Minx into running away because they are afraid she will bring police attention to their gang. They are insane and do weird tactics. Finally they understand Minx will not leave without the cat and they hear her say she won't say anything if Sylum is found so they "find" him and return him to Minx

Really, really hope all those assholes on Twitter accusing her of being so insane that she was making something out of nothing, or even worse were accusing her of setting it all up for clout are happy with themselves after this video. Paranoia is no joke, but sometimes it actually unironically protects you from shit that would otherwise be genuinely dangerous. I think with this timeline, and all the videos it's clear that something VERY shady was happening here, and anyone put in her position would have been losing it. Fuck those people, man.

This might be the craziest story I have ever heard on the internet, the fact minx got the cats back is just amazing. I hope this story unfolds and minx can relax again

Okay let me take a shot at this. You stayed in a house where the owners had a cheeky operation going. Someone would stay under the house and break in and take shit from the people staying there. They would turn around, fence it for weed, then sell the weed for money, launder the money through the airbnb, repeat. I would almost bet that they were going to keep sylum until you made some sort of "lost cat: reward offer" type thing, then suddenly have someone find him and cash in. Everything after that was exactly what otherts said. Fear tactics. Just to get you to leave and let them continue. The bookstore I feel was just a distraction. Make it seem like someone else in the area causing trouble and take the attention away from the house but idk. Regardless I'm glad you and the cats are safe. Try to breathe.

Minx, you weren't paranoid, they were trying to gaslight you. The house owners are concealing drug dealing with AirBnB sellers, they hide the break ins as "a thing that happens". But they underrestimated how determined and strong you are for your cats.

I've had this kind of stuff happen to me. A guy I worked for right after he got out of prison for kidnapping got obsessed with me when I was a teenager and he knew where I lived, and he invited me to Mexico, where he kidnapped another kid and I declined and blocked him. Then familiar cars would show up and stop in my cul de sac, and I started thinking he could be anywhere; the woods by my house, wherever he might have been able to track me since he was a speed addict. It caused a mental breakdown, which I'm glad you're strong enough to prevent. It's a weird situation where you have to believe the possibilities of what "could be" the situation is not the situation. No one believes you, since it's just too unreal. Your brain just does survival stuff, which can be seen as crazy. Anyways, just a big fan of you, and I'm glad you're staying strong 😄👍

TLDW: Minx basically got robbed while staying at a air BnB her cats got lost then where found and during all that she uncovered some sort of possible La Russian mob stash under the BnB

Theory time The Airbnb owners charged homeless or drug dealers a tiny fee to stay under the house. The drug dealers thought you had discovered them so they broke the window and stole the stuff. When it seemed like you wouldn't leave and would keep contacting police, rhe owners stole your cat and gave him to a neighbour in a house they owned. When you finally just said in person, all I want is my cat, they went and picked the cat up to "find" and give to you.
