  • I think it is a stretch to say Lin isn't a great actor, maybe not the greatest singer, but his acting I felt everything he felt through his face. He blew me away.

Sadly Alexander Hamilton is not taught in most schools. Every other founding father is taught about. And I know this first hand . When history was taught to me in the 90's he was never discussed my two oldest children also was not taught about Hamilton. My youngest who is 14 and just finished 8th grade had watched Hamilton and it just so happened that the 8th grade classes had history and were covering the founding fathers but for some reason the two history teachers left Hamilton out. The 8th grade classes had to do a project on the Founding Fathers and were able to pick who they wanted to do their project on. My child was the only one that chose Hamilton. She spent many hours reading history books ECT... The teacher asked why did you choose Hamilton when we never discussed him. My child's reply was this. " That's exactly the reason why I chose Hamilton he was instrumental in building America and deserves to be remembered just as much as the other founding fathers. " She got a 100 on her project
  • Lin is legendary and brings pride to NY& Puerto Ricans everywhere. He is talented beyond his years and I only wish I discovered his talent sooner. We are so lucky to experience his art real time. I hope somewhere in some woman’s belly there is a child that will bring this level of art to us again. We desperately need more people like Lin. I can’t say anymore . Thank you Lin so much contribution & God bless the true artists of the future

Alexander Could have become president. A popular misconception is that because he was born in the British West Indies, Hamilton could not legally have become president. That’s not the case. The Constitution states that to become president, a person must be either a natural-born citizen or a citizen of the United States at the time of the Constitution’s adoption, which Hamilton certainly was. In fact, the first seven U.S. presidents were born British citizens. Martin Van Buren, born in 1782, was the first to be born an American citizen.

I think Lin Manuel Miranda it a true blessing to this world! In a time where art isn't about expressing yorself and the art itself anymore but just comercials and money and fame it's very rare to find true artists who rlly create masterpieces and not just publish smth for the money and don't even rlly spend time and love in what they do. the quality of what we call art nowerdays is much lover than 100 years ago and finding someone who stil creates true art and who has true talent is rare. so thank you Lin Manuel Miranda for doing what you're doing and showing that there's still true talent in this world.

I just saw Hamilton last night. I was blown away, no pun intended. It is so masterfully put together. It's amazing how reading a biography while on vacation led him to put all of this together. Historically, I learned a lot. I had no idea Hamilton was the first politician to be publicly outted for misdeeds. I've since read the letters his mistress and her conniving husband sent Hamilton. Lyrically it's impressive how Lin put so much into every verse to create such dimensional portrayals of historical figures.

This video made me listen to In The Heights, then watch the movie & I love it!!
  • One of those critics is so ungracious and resentful of the genius of the creatives behind this masterpiece - all the reasons critics get a bad name. Ugh.

  • 13:46. It's strange this gentleman seems unaware of Miranda's views on Hamilton. They were patently clear in his presentation of the first rap of the still-in-creation-process musical at the White House, years before the work's premiere. He said, "I'm working on a concept album on the life of someone I think embodies hip-hop: Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton." And he followed explaining how Hamilton had arrived to be a Founding Father and have fights with everyone, on the power of his writing, how the power of words can change the world. The video is on YouTube in the channel of Obama's White House; it has millions of views. Easy to find: just look for "Hamilton White House." 18:45. And, of course, the White House event is mentioned. And later, Miranda explains it again. How is it that someone is still wondering why he chose Hamilton as a subject? The ten dollar founding father without a father embodies hip-hop!
