Our President tried to engaged with China interms of the security in indo pacific resolving the issues in south China Sea but China could not respond diplomacy, they keep on bullying despite of the talks. Now they are wondering why Philippines is returning to US strengthening the partnership and alliance. China forgot that Philippines is one of the oldies US ally in Asia.

The Philippines 🇵🇭 Helped many countries during WW2 Also. That’s how its supposed to be. Right now, countries surrounding South China Sea is like a group of kids at school watching someone getting bullied everyday. And cannot do anything about it. Because the bully takes turns trying to bully each one of them. But if they work together, and not just watch each other get bullied, things will get better.

Philippine sovereignty is highly significant to stop China from dreaming of invading the West Philippine Seas and numerous islands . Note that Philippine territories are not part of China. Meanwhile the claim of China to independent Taiwan is actually part of strategies of China to create instability in ASEAN and Asian Pacific region. China's behavior is dangerous but she did not realize that she will be in danger for long term basis with her claim of seas and islands outside her boundaries .

Duterte could have continued the administration before him regarding the UNCLOS ruling that the philippines won instead he favored China. To me that endangered the Philippine National Security. Its good that the present administration has changed what Duterte had planned and is favoring the US and its allies.
