In 1969 Sir William Walton wrote the music for the film 'Battle of Britain' sadly only part of his score was used for the sequence - Battle in the Air.

I've done my best to edit the Star Wars Death Star battle to fit the music of Sir William but some changes had to be made although the general battle follows the film's sequence.

Some of the scenes are in SD because I couldn't find an HD clip that contained all the shots I needed.

This video is basically an experiment in matching film to music and a tribute to a great composer

  • Superb edit! Very well done! Fun fact by the way, the Trench Run in ANH was inspired by main attack in The Dambusters.

...the incredible irony of this video is that they actually used music by Walton, from this specific film, as a temp track when editing the film (they would edit the movie using "temporary tracks" as placeholder music, until they had a final cut and could record the score). So for all you know, you have recreated the exact way this scene was edited in the rough cut.
  • It’s well know John Williams actually wash heavily influenced by this
