Tracking Tropical Disturbance, Could Enter the Gulf of Mexico

A tropical wave is slowly becoming better organized as it approaches the Greater Antilles of the Caribbean. Conditions are expected to become more favorable for development as it approaches the Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas. A tropical depression could form by the weekend. The eventual track of the system will depend on when it finally comes together. If it forms late and remains weak, the system could take a more westerly track possibly into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The majority of models favor a track up the east coast of Florida.

  • What about the other blob crossing Central America that looks like it may meet up with the Atlantic wave and build into a monstrous storm of proportions never seen before and travel north into the Gulf encompassing all of Florida and then some.

    Meteorologists are idiots. A few days ago everyone of you guys said the GFS model was "out to lunch" because it predicted entry into the Gulf. I mean, if you understand model uncertainty, why was the GFS completely written off?? Now look at it.
