I switched to a dumb phone a year ago, this is about how it's been.

  • Great video! I’m like 80% convinced to get a light phone instead of just stripping down the apps on my phone like I’ve already done.

First math professor that makes me comfortable and I enjoy listening to??? Imma subscribe ASAP.

i spent 1157 hours on my phone this year, i should ask my parents to buy me a flip phone.

I just bought my second flip phone after frying the first one's battery. One of my goals for a few years has been to use a flip phone long-term, and I think I'm finally ready to do that. Thanks for this video, I really wanted to see opinions of others who had done more than week-long trials.

Nice! I hate how calls for 2fa interrupt my music, definitely gotta fix my ipods. I also hate how things like transit and stores just assume you have a smartphone.. Everything doesn't need an app. Sounds like a good way to declutter my mind..

Thanks for the overview. I've tried for a week or so on holiday but need to give it a proper go. I do now put my work sim in the dumb phone when I'm on call (which is a week at a time), to avoid looking at work emails, but they are the least of my concerns with excessively browsing mindless rubbish!
  • Nice to hear your take on a smartphoneless life, I've had my dumbphone for a week now and I feel so relieved. There isn't anything poking my back anymore. The only broblem I've run into is buying tickets for public transport, maps and my bank services. Cheers:)

yeah not even 10sec and you named my motivation... here in Germany we still have 2g and I am lucky to use my first smartphone an huawei ideos x3. Because it's so old you can't use the play store. I installed a text editor and a voice recorder, mp3 player was onboard and in theory I could use maps. Browser doesn't work anymore cause it can't handle modern certificates anymore. So it is technically a dumbphone - just phone, text, a notepad and a recorder for my ideas and an mp3 player. Great thing. And you can change the battery. Thanks for the video Josiah - maybe there will be another one from you....

Recently I bought a Light Phone 2 having used other dumb phones. The LP is different because it's one of the smartest dumb phones I've used. It has as many tools as I need and the rest I get from my MacBook when I choose and not when it chooses.
  • Thanks so much for the video! I love the restraint you have and also would love to see more content from you 👍🏼👌🥰

Love this! I did purchase the Nokia 105 4G phone since I needed one without a camera for work. SIM card is on it's away. Than you for the review.

I got a Nokia flip phone and am waiting for a SIM card to get it activated this week. Pretty excited to disconnect just a bit. I’ve been thinking about doing this for a year now and am ready to take the plunge.

  • @StanleyGraczyk
Thanks for making this video; I just purchased the light phone myself and I'm waiting for it to come in after losing an iPhone and, coincidentally, am a middle school teacher as well. I'd love to see more info on the phone. Keep up the videos looks like you got more than 40 views already.
  • @carbonelll
you just gave me the push I needed to actually do it, thank you
  • I switch to the Light Phone 2 a while back, could care lest to justify it, I just love to hear why others have switched. I didn't have social media addiction (unless you consider YT) I just made the switch cause well I allowed YT to take most of my time vs reading my books.
  • @enricvilabaiget
cool video thanks, would recommend putting a timer next to the timer so you can strategically time your cuts. :) happy new year!
  • @miosz5808

  • @laquoia
