Today we wash this 1984 Pontiac Fiero for the first time in over 30 years. It's been sitting in a pole barn in North Florida since the early 1990s. Let's see if we can bring it back to life! ctmoog! =)

Ronald Finger restored a 1984 Fiero. And made a series of videos. You should check em out. Lots of good info on Fiero restoration there.

That interior will have to be disassembled completely to clean it properly

.I bought a1984 video brand new in 84. At 25000 miles the engine was replaced due to porosity in the block casting which allowed coolant to enter the combustion chamber. At 50000 miles it was replaced again for the same reason.
  • I believe there is that button, like a old door lock that is right by the ignition switch, that you push in to get the ignition to go all of the way back. I had one of these back in the mid 90s, loved the little car. Traveled from Oklahoma to California and Arizona a couple of times.
  • I got my ‘84 Fiero when it was 4 years old and I was 17 years old. I used to look at it and wonder if someday people would be restoring them. I guess I now have my answer! Looking at this car now “showing it’s age” at 40 years old really makes me feel old! It should be a fun car to play around with!

A button or lever by the key does ring a bell.

I'm not a american car guy but this fiero looks so nice.

That Superclean bottle was cool. Looks like a kmart label on it. I think I used it back in the 80s. Forgot about it though.

You can put that headlight down manually..With hood open there is a knob on top of headlight motor just keep turning it...

That bracket on the dash is for a couple of gauges—I think it’s volts and oil pressure. You can look it up. Also, Pennock’s Fiero Parts has seat covers.

Calico Jack's was located at 3501 SW 2nd Ave Gainesville, Fl 32607 According to Yelp it's temporarily closed but Yelpers report this location has closed. Looks like they had a location in Tallahassee but it's closed.
  • I had an 85 had to be in reverse to turn the key to the lock position sometimes had to grab the caller on the steering column and turn it a bit

I bought a cheap handheld clothing steamer from Walmart to do car interior. Works wonders on tough spots

Oh yea that one does have the water pump that is pressed on with a power steering pump style pully and puller

Mother's VLR works great to clean dirty vinyl. I use it to keep the white interior of my convertible clean.
