How spares and strikes work in bowling Spares: 10 points + the next roll. (e.g. Getting 7 for the first roll will give you 17. Getting a strike will give you 20) Strikes: 10 points + the next 2 rolls (e.g. 7 and 2 pins would be 19. A spare would be 20. A strike then 7 would be 27. 2 strikes would be 30)
