I'm glad you're moving. I guarantee that the owner is well aware of the mold problems. I rented a house once that was similar. When we moved out, I cleaned like a crazy woman. When the owner did the walk through, she was amazed that the house was free of the mold! We lost so many things that were ruined!

I agree, 4 hour drive is not that long in America! We do a 5 hour drive every month to my in laws so they can see the baby. Anything 8 hours and over is what we would feel starts being a long trip.

Could your allergy doctor get you out of the contract because of the huge health issues Liana has? That's how it works here in the US.

There's probably mold which you can't see and can be very harmful to your health. I moved into an apartment that had mold between the plasterboard and I became so sick I had to be hospitalised. Within 2 months I found a new apartment for my Son (who was 6) and I and started legal proceedings against the company who owned the building. My neighbours beside me had specialists come in to check the air quality in their apartment because they were always dizxy. The apartment was full of invisible mold and deemed uninhabitable and I suspect I would have gotten the same result. I moved, I even had 2 letters from Doctors stating that the unit was making me ill. As I started to sue because the company said I abandoned my apartment and had to pay a years rent, the law society of upper Canada went on strike. I was still going to go through with the legal proceedings; I wasn't asking for any money, I just wanted out of if the lease. My Father decided to pay the year's rent for me instead of having me wait forever for my time in court. I was diagnosed with Lupus not ling after we moved and I always thought that the 2 months living in the moldy apartment triggered it. I'll never know. I'm glad your moving even though it's an inconvenience. Health is the #1 priority for your family. Loved the oasis you were in, it reminded me a bit of a luxury Japanese inn you can stay in. What a gorgeous place! Yes, here in California it isn’t much to drive from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Los Angeles. It takes about 5 hours. I currently live in Northern California so it would take me all day(about 8 hours) to drive down to Los Angeles. We don’t have to worry about the weather usually which makes driving that far, easier. There is one freeway that is in the middle of the state that goes straight down or there is the scenic route(which takes a little longer), that goes along the coast(so you can see the ocean).

So so happy😊 you are leaving!!! We had mold in one bathroom and I had horrible asthma and my child who didn’t have asthma, had symptoms too!! Once it was fixed properly new a/c new vents and mold treatment for the whole house was tented! You have to treat mold professionally to really really get all of the mold spores that you can’t even see! It’s the right thing to do for you and your baby’s health!!!
