I have my grandmother’s cast iron pan. I use that for all my meat frying. Nothing beats those classic pans for browning and flavor.

🤩I love all of your videos, John! I've learned so much from you, especially about breads. I made this version of steak AND a side of tender-stem broccoli, and also made your peppercorn sauce. I loved it, and my dad also loved it! Thank you for all that you do! And thank you for the great cookbooks, too! Absolutely amazing!

Looks great! I just wanted to add that the temperature for medium rare steak in Fahrenheit is between 130-135 degrees, not 150.

I think that's the most delicious looking steak I've ever seen. The broccoli dish looks delicious also

Every year, usually for Father's Day here in the States or for my birthday (which is Christmas Day so we usually do it a day or two before or after) my wife will cook me a steak dinner. This video and recipe looks so incredibly good, I know what i'm going to ask for when the next occasion comes. Superb recipe, and it does indeed look mouth watering 👍👍👍 THANK YOU for sharing this.

Now I'm hungry. Thanks for showing. "Arrosing" is a technique that I also like to use. As herbs, I like to use thyme or sage from the garden. As a pan, I like to use a heavy cast iron skillet with a heavy lid that presses directly onto the meat for steaks. The enamel coating helps to prevent sticking. 👍👍
